Engine unit 2AD-FHV Inspection

INSPECT CHAIN SUB-ASSEMBLY Using spring scale, pull the chain with a force of 147 N (15 kgf, 33 lbf) as shown in the illustration. Using vernier calipers, measure the length of 16 links. Maximum chain elongation: 144.3 mm (5.681 in.) If the elongation is greater than the maximum, replace the chain. NOTICE: Perform the same measurement by pulling at random in 3 or more places to obtain an average.

1. REMOVE CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR Disconnect the sensor connector. Remove the bolt and sensor. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR Disconnect the sensor connector. Disconnect the sensor connector from the bracket.

Diesel throttle body 2AD-FHV

CHECK DIESEL THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY Check for the throttle control motor operating sounds.   Turn the ignition switch on (IG). When pressing the accelerator pedal, check for the operating sound of the motor. Make sure that no friction noises emit from the motor. If friction noise exists, replace the throttle body. Check the throttle position sensor.

Mass air flow meter 2AD-FHV

Mass air flow meter 2AD-FHV On-vehicle inspection NOTICE: Perform the MAF meter inspection according to the procedures below. Only replace the MAF meter when the MAF value in the DATA LIST (with the engine stopped) is not within the normal operating range.

2AD-FHV Lack of Power or Hesitation

2AD-FHV problems Lack of Power or Hesitation HINT: Specified values in the following troubleshooting flowchart are for reference only. Variations in the Data List values may occur depending on the measuring conditions or the vehicle's age. Do not judge the vehicle to be normal even when the Data List values indicate a standard level. There are possibly some concealed factors of the malfunction.
