Removal

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:

Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

2. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

  1. Remove the 4 bolts, 12 clips and engine under cover.

3. REMOVE INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR

Intake air temperature sensor 2AD-FHV Disconnect the sensor connector.

  1. Disconnect the sensor connector.

  2. Remove the sensor and gasket.

Inspection

1. INSPECT INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR

  1. Measure the resistance between the terminals.

    Standard resistance:

    Temperature Specified Condition
    Approx. 20°C (68°F) 2.21 to 2.65 k?

    NOTICE:

    While checking the inlet air temperature sensor in water, be careful not to allow water to enter the terminals. After checking, wipe off any water on the inlet air temperature sensor.

    If the result is not as specified, replace the sensor.

Installation

1. INSTALL INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR

Intake air temperature sensor 2AD-FHV Install a new gasket to the sensor.

  1. Install a new gasket to the sensor.

  2. Install the sensor.

    Torque: 

    34.3 N*m{ 350 kgf*cm , 25 ft.*lbf }

  3. Connect the sensor connector.

2. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

  1. Install the engine under cover with the 12 clips and 4 bolts.

3. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
