Front Differential Carrier Assembly Removal


  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  2. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL

  3. REMOVE FRONT SIDE MEMBER TO FRONT SUSPENSION CROSSMEMBER BRACE

  4. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

  5. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER

  6. DRAIN DIFFERENTIAL OIL

  7. REMOVE FRONT PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY

  8. REMOVE FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH

  9. REMOVE FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY RH

  10. REMOVE TIE ROD END SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

  11. REMOVE TIE ROD END SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

  12. REMOVE NO. 1 FRONT SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY LOWER LH

  13. REMOVE NO. 1 FRONT SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY LOWER RH

  14. DISCONNECT FRONT AXLE ASSEMBLY LH

  15. DISCONNECT FRONT AXLE ASSEMBLY RH

  16. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY LH

  17. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY RH

  18. REMOVE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ASSEMBLY

Front Differential Carrier Assembly -- Removal



1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.


2. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL


3. REMOVE FRONT SIDE MEMBER TO FRONT SUSPENSION CROSSMEMBER BRACE


4. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER


5. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER


6. DRAIN DIFFERENTIAL OIL


7. REMOVE FRONT PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the propeller shaft (Toyota Fortuner RM0000010QG009X.html).



8. REMOVE FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH

  1. Remove the stabilizer link (Toyota Fortuner RM0000010OY002X.html).



9. REMOVE FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY RH

  1. Remove the stabilizer link (Toyota Fortuner RM0000010OY002X.html).



10. REMOVE TIE ROD END SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

  1. Remove the tie rod end (Toyota Fortuner RM000001643003X.html).



11. REMOVE TIE ROD END SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

  1. Remove the tie rod end (Toyota Fortuner RM000001643003X.html).



12. REMOVE NO. 1 FRONT SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY LOWER LH

  1. Remove the suspension arm lower (Toyota Fortuner RM0000010OU002X.html).



13. REMOVE NO. 1 FRONT SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY LOWER RH

  1. Remove the suspension arm lower (Toyota Fortuner RM0000010OU002X.html).



14. DISCONNECT FRONT AXLE ASSEMBLY LH

  1. Disconnect the front axle (Toyota Fortuner RM00000112M004X.html).



15. DISCONNECT FRONT AXLE ASSEMBLY RH

  1. Disconnect the front axle (Toyota Fortuner RM00000112M004X.html).



16. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY LH

  1. Remove the drive shaft (Toyota Fortuner RM000000ZZ9002X.html).



17. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY RH

  1. Remove the drive shaft (Toyota Fortuner RM000000ZZA002X.html).



18. REMOVE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ASSEMBLY


Toyota Fortuner. Ggn50, 60 Kun51, 61 Tgn51 Lan50.Differential.Front Differential Carrier Assembly.Front Differential Carrier Assembly Removal

  1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the differential breather tube bracket.

  1. Support the differential with a jack.

  1. Remove the No. 1 differential mounting nut.

  1. Remove the 2 mounting bolts and 2 nuts.

  1. Lower the jack and remove the front differential.

  1. Remove the 3 bolts and front No. 1 differential support.

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and front No. 2 differential support.

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and front No. 3 differential support.
