Hood Lock Control Cable Assembly Removal

  1. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY

  2. REMOVE SIDE MUDGUARD

  3. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL

  4. REMOVE FRONT FENDER LINER

  5. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY

  6. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  7. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY

Hood Lock Control Cable Assembly -- Removal



1. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY

2. REMOVE SIDE MUDGUARD


    Corolla. Zre142 Aze141.Door Hatch.Hood.Hood Lock Control Cable Assembly  Removal
  1. Put protective tape around the side mudguard.



    Corolla. Zre142 Aze141
  1. Remove the 2 clips.



    Corolla. Zre142 Aze141
  1. Remove the 3 screws.



    Corolla. Zre142 Aze141
  1. Remove the 9 retainers.



    Corolla. Zre142 Aze141
  1. Disengage the 8 clips and remove the side mudguard.



3. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL


4. REMOVE FRONT FENDER LINER


    Corolla. Zre142 Aze141
  1. Remove the 8 clips and 3 screws.

  1. Remove the 3 grommets and the front fender liner.

    HINT:
    The grommets need to be replaced with new ones because they will break when they are removed.


5. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the 3 bolts from the hood lock assembly.



    Corolla. Zre142 Aze141
  1. Disconnect the hood lock control cable and remove the hood lock assembly.



6. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    Corolla. Zre142 Aze141
  1. Disconnect the hood lock control cable and remove the hood lock control lever.



7. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY


  1. Using a screwdriver, disconnect the clamps shown in the illustration.
