REPLACE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY

AUDIO AND VISUAL SYSTEM (w/o Multi-display) - Speaker Circuit


DESCRIPTION

  1. If there is a short in this circuit, the radio receiver assembly detects it and stops output to the speakers.
  2. Thus sound cannot be heard from the speakers even if there is no malfunction in the radio receiver assembly or speakers.
  3. If a short is detected in a speaker circuit, no sound can be heard from the speakers.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
  1. Disconnect the connectors from the radio receiver assembly and speakers.

  1. for 4 speakers:
    Measure the resistance between each of the front No. 1 speaker assemblies and the radio receiver assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.

    Standard Resistance:

4.REPLACE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY
  1. Check that the malfunction disappears when a known good speaker is installed (COROLLA_ZRE142 RM000002XAP016X.html).

    OK:
    Malfunction disappears.
    HINT:
    1. Connect all the connectors to the front No. 2 speaker assemblies that were disconnected.
    2. When there is a possibility that either the right or left front speaker is defective, inspect by interchanging the right one with the left one.
    3. Perform the above inspection on both LH and RH sides.
