ENTRY AND START SYSTEM - Driver Side Door Entry Lock Function does not Operate


DESCRIPTION

When the touch sensor built into the front door outside handle (for driver side) is turned on, a touch sensor ON signal is transmitted to the certification ECU, and a request signal is then transmitted to both the indoor electrical key oscillator and door electrical key oscillator by the certification ECU. Upon receipt of the request signal, the electrical key transmitter transmits an ID code to the certification ECU. When the certification ECU recognizes that the key is not in the cabin and is outside the vehicle, a door lock signal is transmitted to the main body ECU, causing all the doors to be locked.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1.CHECK FOR DTC

  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the ignition switch on (IG) and turn the tester ON.

  1. By following the tester screen display, check whether any DTCs are output.

    OK:
    No DTC output.

2.CHECK MANUAL DOOR LOCK OPERATION

  1. Check that all the doors lock when the door control switch (for manual operation) is turned to LOCK.

    OK:
    All doors can be lock and unlock with door control switch.

Go to POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM

3.CHECK WIRELESS DOOR LOCK CONTROL OPERATION

  1. Check that the wireless door lock and unlock functions operate normally (RAV4_ACA30 RM000001VRW002X.html).

    OK:
    Wireless door lock and unlock functions operate normally.

4.READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (DOOR LOCK POSITION SWITCH)

  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the ignition switch on (IG).

  1. Turn the intelligent tester on.

  1. Enter the following menus: Body / Main Body / Data List.

  1. Read the Data List according to the display on the intelligent tester.

    Main body ECU:
    Item

    D-Door Lock Pos SW
    		Driver side door lock position switch signal / ON or OFF
    		ON: Driver side door is unlocked
    OFF: Driver side door is closed

5.READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (LOCK SWITCH)

  1. Check the Data List for proper functioning of the door lock switch.

    		Driver side outside door handle (lock switch) / ON or OFF
    		ON: Lock switch is pushed
    OFF: Lock switch is not pushed

6.CHECK ECU AGGREGATION BOX (OPERATION)

  1. Temporarily replace the ECU aggregation box (certification ECU) with a new or normally functioning one.

  1. Check that the entry lock and unlock functions operate normally (RAV4_ACA30 RM000001VGF003X.html).

    OK:
    Entry lock and unlock functions operate normally.

7.INSPECT FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSEMBLY (for Driver Side)

  1. Disconnect the front door outside handle (for driver side) connector.

  1. Measure the resistance between the terminal when the trigger switch is operated.

    Standard resistance:
    Tester Condition

    		10 kΩ or higher
    Switch pressed in
    		Below 1 Ω
