DTC P2716 Pressure Control Solenoid "D" Electrical (Shift Solenoid Valve SLT) |
DESCRIPTION
Refer to DTC P2714 (RAV4_ACA30 RM000000W8307RX_01.html).DTC No.
| DTC Detection Condition
| Trouble Area
|
P2716
| Conditions (a) and (b) below are detected for 1 sec. or more (1 trip detection logic): (a) SLT - terminal: 0 V (b) SLT - terminal: 12 V
| - Open or short in shift solenoid valve SLT circuit
- Shift solenoid valve SLT
- ECM
|
MONITOR DESCRIPTION
When an open or short in the shift solenoid valve SLT circuit is detected, the ECM interprets this as a fault. The ECM will illuminate the MIL and store the DTC.
WIRING DIAGRAM
Refer to DTC P2714 (RAV4_ACA30 RM000000W8307RX_08.html).
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
1.INSPECT TRANSMISSION WIRE (SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SLT) |
Disconnect the transmission wire connector.
Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
- Standard resistance:
Tester Connection
| Condition
| Specified Condition
|
2 (SLT+) - 8 (SLT-)
| 20°C (68°F)
| 5.0 to 5.6 Ω
|
2 (SLT+) - Body ground
| Always
| 10 kΩ or higher
|
8 (SLT-) - Body ground
| Always
| 10 kΩ or higher
|
2.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSMISSION WIRE - ECM) |
Connect the transmission wire connector.
Disconnect the ECM connector.
Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
- Standard resistance:
Tester Connection
| Condition
| Specified Condition
|
B96-11 (SLT+) - B96-10 (SLT-)
| 20°C (68°F)
| 5.0 to 5.6 Ω
|
B96-11 (SLT+) - Body ground
| Always
| 10 kΩ or higher
|
B96-10 (SLT-) - Body ground
| Always
| 10 kΩ or higher
|
| REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR |
|
|
3.INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SLT |
Remove the shift solenoid valve SLT.
Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
- Standard resistance:
Tester Connection
| Condition
| Specified Condition
|
1 - 2
| 20°C (68°F)
| 5.0 to 5.6 Ω
|
Connect the battery's positive (+) lead with a 21 W bulb to terminal 2 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 1 of the solenoid valve connector. Then check that the valve moves and makes an operating sound.
- OK:
- Valve moves and makes operating sound.
