ENGINE FRONT OIL SEAL - REMOVAL
| 1. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL |
Remove the 11 clips and intake duct seal.
| 2. REMOVE NO. 1 INLET AIR CLEANER |
Remove the bolt, clip and inlet air cleaner.
| 3. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER |
Remove the No. 1 engine cover.
| 4. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT |
Release the belt tension by turning the belt tensioner counterclockwise, and remove the V-ribbed belt from the belt tensioner.
While turning the belt tensioner counterclockwise, align its holes, and then insert a 5 mm (0.20 in.) bar into the holes to hold the belt tensioner.

| 6. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY |
Remove the bolt while holding the crankshaft with SST.

- Recommended service bolt:
Item Specified Condition Thread diameter 12 mm (0.47 in.) Thread pitch 1.5 mm (0.059 in.) Bolt length Approx. 30 to 38 mm (1.18 to 1.50 in.)
Remove the crankshaft pulley with SST.

| 7. REMOVE TIMING CHAIN CASE OIL SEAL |
Using a knife, cut off the oil seal lip.
Using a screwdriver with the tip taped, pry out the oil seal.
- HINT:
- Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- NOTICE:
- After removing the oil seal, check the crankshaft for damage. If it is damaged, smooth the surface with 400-grit sandpaper.
