DTC C1436 Yaw Rate Sensor Malfunction


DESCRIPTION

The skid control ECU receives signals from the yaw rate and acceleration sensor via the CAN communication system.
If there is trouble in the bus lines between the yaw rate and acceleration sensor and the CAN communication system, DTCs U0123 (malfunction in CAN communication with the yaw rate sensor) and U0124 (malfunction in CAN communication with the acceleration sensor) are stored.
These DTCs are also stored when calibration is not completed.

  1. With the vehicle stationary, the yaw rate and acceleration sensor output value is not 0 deg/s.
  2. An abnormal comparison value.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
When replacing the yaw rate and acceleration sensor, perform calibration (LandCruiser RM000000XHR0BKX.html).
HINT:
When DTC U0123, U0124 and/or U0126 is output together with DTC C1436, inspect and repair the trouble areas indicated by DTC U0123, U0124 and/or U0126 first (LandCruiser RM000000YUO0T0X.html).
1.READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (YAW RATE SENSOR)

  1. Turn the ignition switch off.

  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

  1. Turn the intelligent tester on.

  1. Enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRC / Data List.

  1. Check that the yaw rate and acceleration sensor output value is displayed on the intelligent tester.

2.CHECK YAW RATE AND ACCELERATION SENSOR INSTALLATION

  1. Turn the ignition switch off.

  1. Check that the yaw rate and acceleration sensor is installed properly (LandCruiser RM000000SS207WX.html).

    OK:
    The sensor is tightened to the specified torque.
    The sensor is not installed at an angle.
    NOTICE:
    Check the yaw rate and acceleration sensor signal after replacement (LandCruiser RM000000XHT0EPX.html).
