REMOVE DRIVE PLATE AND RING GEAR SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transmission)
Rear Crankshaft Oil Seal -- Removal |
1. REMOVE MANUAL TRANSMISSION UNIT ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transmission) |
2. REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transmission) |
3. REMOVE CLUTCH COVER ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transmission) |
Place matchmarks on the clutch cover and flywheel.

Loosen each set bolt one turn at a time until spring tension is released.
Remove the 6 set bolts and pull off the clutch cover.
- NOTICE:
- Do not drop the clutch disc.
4. REMOVE CLUTCH DISC ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transmission) |
- NOTICE:
- Keep the lining part of the clutch disc, the pressure plate and the surface of the flywheel away from oil and foreign matter.
5. REMOVE FLYWHEEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transmission) |
Using SST, hold the crankshaft.

Remove the 10 bolts and flywheel sub-assembly.

6. REMOVE DRIVE PLATE AND RING GEAR SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transmission) |
Using SST, hold the crankshaft.

Remove the 10 bolts, rear drive plate spacer, drive plate and ring gear sub-assembly and front drive plate spacer.

7. REMOVE REAR ENGINE OIL SEAL |
Using a knife, cut off the lip of the rear engine oil seal.

Using a screwdriver pry out the rear engine oil seal.
- NOTICE:
- Do not damage the surface of the rear engine oil seal press fit hole or the crankshaft.
- After removing the rear engine oil seal, check the crankshaft for damage. If damaged, smooth the surface with 400-grit sandpaper.
- HINT:
- Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
