  3. REMOVE CLUTCH COVER ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transmission)

  4. REMOVE CLUTCH DISC ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transmission)

  5. REMOVE FLYWHEEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transmission)

  6. REMOVE DRIVE PLATE AND RING GEAR SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transmission)

  7. REMOVE REAR ENGINE OIL SEAL

Rear Crankshaft Oil Seal -- Removal



1. REMOVE MANUAL TRANSMISSION UNIT ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transmission)

3. REMOVE CLUTCH COVER ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transmission)

  1. Place matchmarks on the clutch cover and flywheel.

  1. Loosen each set bolt one turn at a time until spring tension is released.

  1. Remove the 6 set bolts and pull off the clutch cover.

    NOTICE:
    Do not drop the clutch disc.


4. REMOVE CLUTCH DISC ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transmission)
NOTICE:
Keep the lining part of the clutch disc, the pressure plate and the surface of the flywheel away from oil and foreign matter.


5. REMOVE FLYWHEEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transmission)

  1. Using SST, hold the crankshaft.

  1. Remove the 10 bolts and flywheel sub-assembly.



6. REMOVE DRIVE PLATE AND RING GEAR SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transmission)

  1. Using SST, hold the crankshaft.

  1. Remove the 10 bolts, rear drive plate spacer, drive plate and ring gear sub-assembly and front drive plate spacer.



7. REMOVE REAR ENGINE OIL SEAL

  1. Using a knife, cut off the lip of the rear engine oil seal.

  1. Using a screwdriver pry out the rear engine oil seal.

    NOTICE:
    1. Do not damage the surface of the rear engine oil seal press fit hole or the crankshaft.
    2. After removing the rear engine oil seal, check the crankshaft for damage. If damaged, smooth the surface with 400-grit sandpaper.
    HINT:
    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
