DESCRIPTION

The manifold absolute pressure sensor detects the intake manifold pressure by using its built-in sensor unit. The ECM determines the basic injection duration and injection advance timing based on the voltage output by the manifold absolute pressure sensor.
DESCRIPTION
The manifold absolute pressure sensor monitors the absolute pressure inside the intake manifold (default is 0 kPa (0 mmHg, 0 in.Hg)). As a result the ECM controls the air-fuel ratio at the proper level under any driving conditions, and fuel control accuracy is not influenced by fluctuations in the atmospheric pressure due to factors such as high altitude, etc.

УКАЗАНИЕ:

When DTC P0105, P0107, or P0108 is detected, check the intake manifold pressure by entering the following menus on the intelligent tester: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / MAP.

  1. Open or short in VC circuit
  2. Open in PIM circuit

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

After replacing the ECM, the new ECM needs registration and initialization.

 

УКАЗАНИЕ:

If DTCs relating to different systems are output, and they share terminal E2 as their ground, check this ground circuit first.

 

1.READ VALUE OF MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE SENSOR
  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the ignition switch on (IG) and turn the tester ON.

  1. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / MAP and Atmosphere Pressure.

  1. Read the value.

     

    OK:

    Condition MAP Value
    No pressure applied Same as atmospheric pressure
    Vacuum applied Becomes vacuum
    Pressure applied Becomes pressurized

2.CHECK WIRE HARNESS (MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE SENSOR - ECM)

 

CHECK WIRE HARNESS

  1. Disconnect the B45 manifold absolute pressure sensor connector.

  1. Disconnect the B32 ECM connector.

  1. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

     

    Standard resistance:

    Tester Connection Specified Condition
    B45-2 (PIM) - B32-117 (PIM) Below 1 ?
    B45-3 (VC) - B32-71 (VCPM) Below 1 ?
    B45-1 (E) - B32-94 (EPIM) Below 1 ?
    B45-2 (PIM) or B32-117 (PIM) - Body ground 10 k? or higher
    B45-3 (VC) or B32-71 (VCPM) - Body ground 10 k? or higher
    B45-1 (E) or B32-94 (EPIM) - Body ground 10 k? or higher
  1. Reconnect the manifold absolute pressure sensor connector.

  1. Reconnect the ECM connector.

3.CHECK MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE TERMINAL VOLTAGE (VC TERMINAL)

 

Check manifold absolute pressure terminal voltage

  1. Disconnect the B45 manifold absolute pressure sensor connector.

  1. Turn the ignition switch on (IG).

  1. Measure the voltage of the manifold absolute pressure sensor.

     

    Standard voltage:

    Tester Connection Specified Condition
    B45-3 (VC) - B45-1 (E) 4.5 to 5.5 V
  1. Reconnect the manifold absolute pressure sensor connector.

  1. Check the turbocharger sub-assembly.
