INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
  1. After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (LandCruiser RM000003YMD00TX.html).
  2. When installing the spiral cable and steering wheel, be sure to adjust the spiral cable as it may break if the steering wheel is turned before adjusting the spiral cable (LandCruiser RM000002O8U02GX.html).
  3. When disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal while performing repairs, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (LandCruiser RM000003YMF011X.html).
HINT:
To perform the simulation method, enter check mode (signal check) with the intelligent tester (LandCruiser RM000000XFF0H0X.html), and then wiggle each connector of the airbag system or drive the vehicle on various types of road (LandCruiser RM000000XFD0N3X.html).
1.CHECK STEERING PAD (DRIVER SIDE SQUIB 2ND STEP)

  1. Turn the ignition switch off.

  1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds.

  1. Disconnect the connectors from the steering pad.

  1. Connect the white wire side of SST (resistance: 2.1 Ω) to connector E (black connector).

    CAUTION:
Never connect the tester to the steering pad (driver side squib 2nd step) for measurement, as this may lead to a serious injury due to airbag deployment.
    NOTICE:
    1. Do not forcibly insert SST into the terminals of the connector when connecting SST.
    2. Insert SST straight into the terminals of the connector.
