INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:

When replacing the brake actuator assembly, perform zero point calibration (RAV4_ACA30 RM000001K1O00SX.html).

HINT:

When C1425 is output together with C1429, inspect and repair the trouble areas indicated by C1425 first (RAV4_ACA30 RM000000XIE0BZX.html).

1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
   

2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
   

3. Select the Data List mode on the intelligent tester (RAV4_ACA30 RM000000ONK01EX.html).
   
   

   ABS/VSC/TRC:

   Brake Pedal Load Sensing SW	Brake pedal load sensing switch / ON or OFF	ON: Brake pedal depressed beyond the specified point OFF: Brake pedal not depressed beyond the specified point	-

4. Check that the brake pedal load sensing switch display observed on the intelligent tester changes according to brake pedal operation.
   

   OK:

   The intelligent tester displays ON or OFF according to brake pedal operation.
   

1. Turn the ignition switch off.
   

2. Clear the DTCs (RAV4_ACA30 RM000000ONJ02VX.html).
   

3. Start the engine.
   

4. Perform the road and braking test.
   

5. Check if the same DTC is output (RAV4_ACA30 RM000000ONJ02VX.html).
   

   Result:

   Result	Proceed to
   DTC (C1429) is not output.	A
   DTC (C1429) is output.	B

NOTICE:

1. Do not remove the brake pedal load sensing switch from the brake pedal support assembly.
   
2. When there is a malfunction in the brake pedal load sensing switch, replace the brake pedal support assembly.
   

1. Turn the ignition switch off.
   

2. Make sure that there is no looseness in the locking part and connecting part of the connector.
   

3. Disconnect the brake pedal load sensing switch connector.
   

4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
   
   

   Standard Resistance:

   
   

   Tester Connection	Switch Condition	Specified Condition
   1 - 2	Brake pedal load sensing switch off (Brake pedal depressed)	0.9 to 1.1 kΩ
   	Brake pedal load sensing switch on (Brake pedal released)	192 to 234 Ω

1. Make sure that there is no looseness in the locking part and connecting part of the connector.
   

2. Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
   

3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
   

   Standard Resistance:

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   A67-27 (FSW+) - A3-2	Always	Below 1 Ω
   A67-27 (FSW+) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher
   A3-1 - Body ground	Always	Below 1 Ω
