CHECK DTC (When Using Intelligent Tester)

  1. Turn the ignition switch off and connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

  3. Turn the intelligent tester on.

  4. Read the DTCs by following the prompts on the intelligent tester screen.

    HINT:
    Refer to the intelligent tester operator manual for further details.

CLEAR DTC (When Using Intelligent Tester)

  1. Turn the ignition switch off and connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

  3. Turn the intelligent tester on.

  4. Operate the intelligent tester to clear the DTCs.

    HINT:
    Refer to the intelligent tester operator manual for further details.

CHECK DTC (When not Using Intelligent Tester)

  1. Using SST, connect terminals 13 (TC) and 4 (CG) of the DLC3.

  2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

  3. w/ Multi Information Display:
    Read DTCs from the multi information display on the combination meter.
    w/o Multi Information Display:
    Read DTCs from the ABS warning light and slip indicator light on the combination meter.

    HINT:
    1. If the ABS warning light and slip indicator light do not blink, perform relevant troubleshooting procedures. The relevant troubleshooting procedures are in the sections listed in the table below.

  4. Check the details of the DTCs.

    *1: This DTC is output when the VSC system detects a malfunction in the ABS.

  5. After completing the check, disconnect SST from terminals 13 (TC) and 4 (CG) of the DLC3, and turn the ignition switch off.

    HINT:
    If 2 or more malfunctions are stored at the same time, the lowest numbered DTC is output first.

CLEAR DTC (When not Using Intelligent Tester)

  1. Using SST, connect terminals 13 (TC) and 4 (CG) of the DLC3.

  2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

  3. Clear the DTCs stored in the skid control ECU by depressing the brake pedal 8 times or more within 5 seconds.

  4. Check that the ABS warning light and slip indicator light come on.

  5. Remove SST from the terminals of the DLC3.

  6. Turn the ignition switch off.

    HINT:
    Clearing the DTCs cannot be performed by removing the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal or the ECU-IG1 fuse.

END OF DTC CHECK/CLEAR

  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

  2. Check that the ABS warning light and slip indicator light go off within approximately 3 seconds.

  3. Turn the ignition switch off.
