Abs And Traction Actuator (W/ Vsc) -- Removal |
| 1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL |
- CAUTION:
- Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
| 2. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 1AZ-FE) |
Remove the air cleaner case (RAV4_ACA30 RM000001BC300NX.html).
| 3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 2AZ-FE) |
Remove the air cleaner case (RAV4_ACA30 RM000001BC300OX.html).
| 4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 2GR-FE) |
Remove the air cleaner case (RAV4_ACA30 RM0000019Y9015X.html).
| 5. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 3ZR-FAE) |
Remove the air cleaner case (RAV4_ACA30 RM000003PXM003X.html).
| 6. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID |
- NOTICE:
- Wash off brake fluid immediately if it comes in contact with any painted surface.
| 7. DISCONNECT CONNECTOR |
Pull the lock lever upward and disconnect the connector.
- NOTICE:
- Be careful not to allow brake fluid to enter the removed connector.

| 8. DISCONNECT BRAKE LINE |
Using a union nut wrench, disconnect the 6 brake lines from the actuator.
 |
Place tags or marks to identify the installation locations of each brake line.
 |
| 9. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR WITH BRACKET |
Disconnect the brake tube clamp from the bracket.
 |
Remove the 3 nuts and actuator with bracket.
- NOTICE:
- Be careful not to damage the brake tubes.
