Brake Pedal (For Vacuum Brake Booster) -- Removal |
- HINT:
- Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.
- The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.
| 1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL |
- CAUTION:
- Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
- NOTICE:
- After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (LandCruiser RM000003YMD00TX.html).
- When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (LandCruiser RM000003YMF011X.html).
| 2. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY |
Remove the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly (LandCruiser RM000003YPV037X.html).
| 3. REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL RETURN SPRING |
| 4. REMOVE PUSH ROD PIN |
Remove the clip and push rod pin from the brake pedal.
| 5. REMOVE STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY |
Disconnect the stop light switch connector.
Remove the stop light switch assembly (LandCruiser RM000003QJT01GX_01_0003.html).
| 6. DISCONNECT BRAKE PEDAL LOAD SENSING SWITCH |
Disconnect the brake pedal load sensing switch connector.

| 7. REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL SUPPORT ASSEMBLY |
Remove the brake pedal support reinforcement set bolt.
 |
for LHD:
Remove the brake master cylinder sub-assembly (LandCruiser RM000002WF107FX.html).
Remove the brake booster assembly (LandCruiser RM000002WLS057X.html).
for RHD:
Remove the brake actuator assembly (LandCruiser RM0000034UX02TX.html).
Remove the brake master cylinder sub-assembly (LandCruiser RM000002WF107FX.html).
Remove the brake booster assembly (LandCruiser RM000002WLS057X.html).
Remove the 4 nuts and brake pedal support assembly.
