Brake Actuator -- Removal |
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL |
- CAUTION:
- Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
- NOTICE:
- After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (LandCruiser RM000003YMD00TX.html).
- When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (LandCruiser RM000003YMF011X.html).
2. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 2TR-FE) |
3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE ASSEMBLY (for 5L-E) |
4. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY |
Release the lock lever and disconnect the brake actuator connector.
- NOTICE:
- Be careful not to allow brake fluid to enter the removed connector.

Using a union nut wrench, disconnect the 6 brake lines from the brake actuator.
Place tags or marks to identify the installation locations of each brake line.
- HINT:
- *1: To front wheel cylinder RH
- *2: To front wheel cylinder LH
- *3: To rear wheel cylinder RH
- *4: To rear wheel cylinder LH
- *5: From front master cylinder
- *6: From rear master cylinder

Remove the 3 nuts and brake actuator with bracket from the body.
- NOTICE:
- Do not damage the brake lines or wire harness.
- Do not hold the actuator by the connector.
- If the actuator is dropped, replace it.

5. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR BRACKET |
Remove the 3 bolts and brake actuator bracket from the brake actuator.
- NOTICE:
- Do not damage the brake lines or wire harness.
- Do not hold the actuator by the connector.
- If the actuator is dropped, replace it.

6. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR CASE COLLAR |
Remove the 3 brake actuator case collars from the brake actuator bolt cushions.

7. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR BOLT CUSHION |
Remove the 3 brake actuator bolt cushions from the brake actuator bracket.
