DTC B1630/23 Rear Airbag Sensor RH Circuit Malfunction |
DESCRIPTION
The rear airbag sensor RH circuit consists of the center airbag sensor assembly, side airbag sensor RH, door side airbag sensor RH* and rear airbag sensor RH.The side airbag sensor RH, door side airbag sensor RH* and rear airbag sensor RH detect impacts to the vehicle and send signals to the center airbag sensor assembly to determine if the airbags should be deployed.DTC B1630/23 is recorded when a malfunction is detected in the rear airbag sensor RH circuit.DTC No.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Turn the ignition switch off.
Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
Check that the connectors are properly connected to the side airbag sensor RH, door side airbag sensor RH and rear airbag sensor RH. Also check that the connectors that link the No. 2 floor wire and front door wire RH are properly connected.
- OK:
- The connectors are properly connected.
- HINT:
- If the connectors are not connected securely, reconnect the connectors and proceed to the next inspection.
Disconnect the connectors from the side airbag sensor RH, door side airbag sensor RH and rear airbag sensor RH. Also disconnect the connectors that link the No. 2 floor wire and front door wire RH.
Check that the terminals of the connectors are not damaged.
- OK:
- The terminals are not deformed or damaged.
3.CHECK NO. 2 FLOOR WIRE (OPEN) |
Using SST, connect terminals 4 (BCR+) and 3 (BCR-) of connector C.
- NOTICE:
- Do not forcibly insert SST into the terminals of the connector when connecting.

Connect the connectors to the side airbag sensor RH and door side airbag sensor RH.
Interchange the rear airbag sensor RH with LH and connect the connectors.
Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
Clear the DTCs stored in the memory (COROLLA_ZRE142 RM000000XFE0H1X.html).
Turn the ignition switch off.
Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
Check for DTCs (COROLLA_ZRE142 RM000000XFE0H1X.html).

12.CHECK SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR RH |
Interchange the side airbag sensor RH with LH and connect the connectors.
Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
Clear the DTCs stored in the memory (COROLLA_ZRE142 RM000000XFE0H1X.html).
Turn the ignition switch off.
Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
Check for DTCs (COROLLA_ZRE142 RM000000XFE0H1X.html).

Disconnect the connector from the door side airbag sensor RH.
Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
Clear the DTCs stored in the memory (COROLLA_ZRE142 RM000000XFE0H1X.html).
Turn the ignition switch off.
Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
Check for DTCs (COROLLA_ZRE142 RM000000XFE0H1X.html).
- OK:
- DTC B1630/23 is not output.
- HINT:
- Codes other than DTC B1630/23 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.
14.CHECK FRONT DOOR WIRE RH (OPEN) |
Disconnect the front door wire RH connector from the No. 2 floor wire.
- HINT:
- SST has already been inserted into connector E.
Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
