Insert SST into the clutch disc. Then insert SST (together with the clutch disc) into the flywheel to install the clutch disc.

• ПРИМЕЧАНИЕ:

• Be sure to install the clutch disc so that it is facing in the correct direction.

Align the matchmarks on the clutch cover and flywheel.

Tighten the 6 bolts uniformly in the order shown in the illustration, starting with the bolt located near the knock pin on the top.

• Move SST up and down, and right and left lightly after checking that the clutch disc assembly is in the center, and then tighten the bolts.

Using a dial indicator with a roller instrument, measure the diaphragm spring tip alignment.

• 0.5 mm (0.0196 in.)

Install the release fork support to the manual transmission unit.

• 39 N*m{ 400 kgf*cm, 29 ft.*lbf}

Apply release hub grease to the clutch release bearing, and then install it to the clutch release fork with the clip.

• Grease:
• Toyota Genuine Release Hub Grease or equivalent

Install the clutch release fork.

• After the installation, move the fork forward and backward to check that the release bearing slides smoothly.

Apply clutch spline grease to the spline of the input shaft.

• Grease:
• Toyota Genuine Clutch Spline Grease or equivalent

Install the manual transmission assembly (See page ).

Using a vernier caliper, measure the rivet head depth.

• Minimum rivet head depth:
• 0.3 mm (0.0118 in.)

If the depth is less than the minimum, replace the clutch disc assembly.

Using a dial indicator, check the disc runout.

• Maximum runout:
• 0.8 mm (0.0315 in.)

• ПРИМЕЧАНИЕ:

• Be sure to measure on the correct side of the clutch disc.

If the runout is more than the maximum, replace the clutch disc assembly.

Using a vernier caliper, measure the depth and width of the worn areas of the diaphragm spring.

• Maximum Wear:

• Item	Specified Condition
  Width	6.0 mm (0.236 in.)
  Depth	0.35 mm (0.0137 in.)

If the depth or width is more than the maximum, replace the clutch cover assembly.

Using a dial indicator, measure the flywheel runout.

• Maximum runout:
• 0.1 mm (0.00393 in.)

If the runout is more than the maximum, replace the flywheel sub-assembly.

Check that the bearing turns smoothly by hand by applying force in the axial direction.

If the bearing sticks or has a considerable amount of resistance, replace the release bearing.

• The bearing is permanently lubricated and requires no cleaning or lubrication.

Check that the bearing turns smoothly by hand by applying rotational force.

If the bearing sticks or has a considerable amount of resistance, replace the input shaft front bearing.

Remove any 2 diametrically opposite bolts.

Using SST, remove the input shaft bearing.

Using SST and a hammer, tap in a new bearing.

• After installing the bearing to the hub, make sure that it rotates smoothly.

Apply adhesive to 2 or 3 threads of the bolts.

• Adhesive:
• Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1324, Three Bond 1324 or equivalent

Install the 2 bolts.

• 123 N*m{ 1249 kgf*cm, 90 ft.*lbf}

Remove the manual transmission assembly (See page ).

Remove the release fork and release bearing from the clutch housing.

Remove the clip and release bearing from the release fork.

Remove the release fork support from the manual transmission unit.

Place matchmarks on the clutch cover and flywheel.

Loosen each set bolt one turn at a time until spring tension is released.

Remove the 6 set bolts and pull off the clutch cover.
