Install the starter with the 2 bolts and nut.

Connect the clutch flexible hose bracket with the bolt.

Connect the release cylinder with the 2 bolts.

Install the rear engine under cover with the 4 bolts.

Using a press, install the starter armature assembly.

Align the claw of the brush holder with the claw groove of the starter yoke.

Place the brush holder on the starter yoke.

Connect the 4 brushes to the starter brush holder.

Apply high-temperature grease to the starter idle pinion, starter clutch, starter armature pinion, retainer and clutch roller.

Insert the steel ball into the starter clutch hole.

Insert the return spring into the starter clutch hole.

Install the starter clutch, idle gear, retainer and clutch roller to the starter drive housing.

Install the starter housing to the magnet starter switch with the 2 screws.

Install a new O-ring to the groove of the starter yoke.

Align the claw of the starter brush holder with the grooves of the magnet starter switch.

Install the 2 new O-rings to the bolts.

Connect the terminal C wire with the nut.

Mount the starter in a vise between aluminum plates.

Perform a pull-in test.

Remove the nut, and then disconnect the lead wire from terminal C.

Connect the battery to the magnet starter switch as shown in the illustration. Check that the clutch pinion gear extends.

If the clutch pinion gear does not move, inspect the magnet starter switch assembly. If the magnet starter switch assembly is not as specified, replace it.

Perform a holding test.

Disconnect the negative (-) terminal lead from terminal C with the condition specified in the pull-in test above being maintained. Check that the pinion gear remains extended.

If the clutch pinion gear returns inward, inspect the magnet starter switch assembly. If the magnet starter switch assembly is not as specified, replace it.

Inspect the clutch pinion gear return.

Disconnect the negative (-) terminal lead from the starter body. Check that the clutch pinion gear returns inward.

If the clutch pinion gear does not return inward, inspect the magnet starter switch assembly. If the magnet starter switch assembly is not as specified, replace it.

Perform an operation test without load.

Connect the field coil lead wire to terminal C.

Connect the battery and an ammeter to the starter as shown in the illustration.

Check that the starter rotates smoothly and steadily while the pinion gear is extended. Then measure the current.

• Specified current:
• 120 A or less at 11.5 V

If the result is not as specified, inspect the starter assembly.

Inspect the commutator circle runout.

Place the armature on V-blocks.

Using a dial indicator, measure the circle runout.

• Maximum circle runout:
• 0.05 mm (0.00197 in.)

If the runout is more than the maximum, correct it with sandpaper (No. 400) or replace the starter armature assembly.

Using a vernier caliper, measure the commutator diameter.

• Standard diameter:
• 35.0 mm (1.38 in.)

• Minimum diameter:
• 34.0 mm (1.34 in.)

If the diameter is less than the minimum, replace the starter armature assembly.

Measure the undercut depth of the commutator.

• Standard depth:
• 0.7 mm (0.0276 in.)

• Minimum depth:
• 0.2 mm (0.00787 in.)

If the undercut depth is less than the minimum, correct it with a hacksaw blade.

Inspect the bearings.

Rotate the pinion gear clockwise and check that it turns freely. Try to rotate the pinion gear counterclockwise and check that it locks.

If the result is not as specified, replace the starter clutch sub-assembly.

Turn the pinion gear by hand while applying inward force and check the movement of the bearing.

If resistance is felt or the bearing sticks, replace the starter clutch sub-assembly.

Remove the screw and terminal 50 wire.

Remove the nut and disconnect the terminal C wire.

Remove the 2 through bolts and O-rings and pull out the starter yoke with the armature.

Remove the 2 screws and magnet starter switch.

Remove the return spring.

Remove the starter clutch, starter armature pinion, starter idle pinion, retainer and clutch roller from the starter drive housing.

Using a magnet hand, remove the steel ball from the clutch shaft hole.

Disconnect the 4 brushes from the starter brush holder.

Remove the starter brush holder.

Using a plastic-faced hammer, tap the end of the starter yoke and remove the starter armature.

Remove the 4 bolts and rear engine under cover.

Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the release cylinder.

Remove the bolt and disconnect the clutch flexible hose bracket.

Disconnect the starter connector.

Remove the terminal cap.

Remove the nut and disconnect the starter wire.

Remove the nut, 2 bolts and starter.

Установите новый пылезащитный колпак стартера на крышку со стороны коллектора.

Закрепите крышку со стороны коллектора 2 винтами.

Нанесите высокотемпературную консистентную смазку на промежуточную шестерню, стальной шарик, возвратную пружину, ролик муфты и фиксатор.

Вставьте стальной шарик в гнездо вала пусковой муфты.

Вставьте возвратную пружину в гнездо вала пусковой муфты.

Установите пусковую муфту, промежуточную шестерню, фиксатор и ролик муфты в корпус привода стартера.

Закрепите корпус привода стартера на втягивающем реле стартера 2 болтами.

Установите новое кольцевое уплотнение в канавку статора стартера.

Совместите захват статора стартера с канавкой втягивающего реле стартера.

Закрепите статор стартера на втягивающем реле стартера 2 болтами.

Подсоедините вывод к контакту C и закрепите его гайкой.

Закрепите стартер в тисках между алюминиевыми пластинами.

Выполните испытание втягивания.

Отверните гайку, а затем отсоедините вывод от контакта C.

Подсоедините аккумуляторную батарею к втягивающему реле стартера, как показано на рисунке. Убедитесь, что ведущая шестерня муфты выдвигается.

Если ведущая шестерня муфты не перемещается, проверьте втягивающее реле стартера в сборе. Если втягивающее реле стартера не соответствует требованиям, замените его.

Выполните испытание удержания.

Проверьте возврат ведущей шестерни муфты.

Выполните испытание работы без нагрузки.

Проверьте втягивающую обмотку.

Проверьте удерживающую обмотку.

Измерьте длину щетки штангенциркулем.

Если длина меньше минимально допустимой, замените щеткодержатель стартера и статор стартера в сборе.

Проверьте, нет ли обрыва в катушке возбуждения.

Проверьте радиальное биение коллектора.

Измерьте диаметр коллектора штангенциркулем.

• Номинальный диаметр:
• 30,0 мм (1,18 дюйма)

• Минимально допустимый диаметр:
• 29,0 мм (1,14 дюйма)

Если диаметр меньше минимально допустимого, замените якорь стартера в сборе.

С помощью штангенциркуля измерьте глубину канавок коллектора.

• Номинальная глубина канавок:
• 0,6 мм (0,0236 дюйма)

• Минимально допустимая глубина канавок:
• 0,2 мм (0,00787 дюйма)

Если глубина канавок меньше минимально допустимой, замените якорь стартера в сборе.

Поверните ведущую шестерню по часовой стрелке и проверьте, плавно ли она вращается. Попытайтесь повернуть ведущую шестерню против часовой стрелки и убедитесь, что она блокируется.

Если результат не отвечает требованиям, замените пусковую муфту в сборе.

Вручную проверните ведущую шестерню, нажимая на нее, и проверьте перемещение подшипника.

Если ощущается сопротивление, или подшипник заедает, замените пусковую муфту в сборе.

Отверните гайку и отсоедините вывод от контакта C.

Выверните 2 болта.

Вытяните статор стартера и крышку со стороны коллектора вместе с якорем стартера.

Снимите кольцевое уплотнение со статора стартера.

Выверните 2 болта и снимите втягивающее реле стартера.

Извлеките из корпуса привода стартера промежуточную шестерню, фиксатор, ролик муфты, возвратную пружину и пусковую муфту.

С помощью магнитного захвата извлеките из гнезда вала пусковой муфты стальной шарик.

Выверните 2 винта и снимите крышку со стороны коллектора со статора стартера.

• ПРИМЕЧАНИЕ:

• Придерживая выводной провод, снимите крышку стартера со стороны коллектора.

Отсоедините пылезащитный колпак стартера от крышки со стороны коллектора.

Снимите кольцевое уплотнение со статора стартера.

Отсоедините 4 щетки от щеткодержателя стартера.

Снимите щеткодержатель стартера.

Снимите якорь со статора стартера.
