ENGINE IMMOBILISER SYSTEM (w/o Entry and Start System) - HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING
Use these procedures to troubleshoot the engine immobiliser system.
*: Use the intelligent tester.
If the ignition switch cannot be turned to ON, communication with the intelligent tester can be performed by connecting the intelligent tester to the vehicle and turning a courtesy light switch on and off at intervals of 1.5 seconds or less until communication between the intelligent tester and vehicle begins.
1.VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP |
2.INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE |
- Standard voltage:
- 11 to 14 V
If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding.
- A simple method to determine whether the battery is depleted is to operate the horn.
3.CRANK ENGINE FOR MORE THAN 10 SECONDS |
Check for DTCs and note any codes that are output ().
Based on the DTCs output above, proceed to each diagnostic procedure.
