DTC B2786 No Response from Steering Lock ECU

DESCRIPTION

This DTC is stored when LIN communication between the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) and steering lock actuator (steering lock ECU) stops for 10 seconds or more.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:

When using the intelligent tester with the ignition switch off to troubleshoot:

Connect the intelligent tester to the vehicle, and turn a courtesy switch on and off at 1.5 second intervals until communication between the intelligent tester and vehicle begins.

HINT:

DTC B2785 is stored when the communication between the steering lock ECU and certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) stops.

Clear the DTC ().

3.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU - STEERING LOCK ECU)

Disconnect the E29 and E26 ECU connectors.

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
E29-10 (LIN) - E26-5 (LIN) Always Below 1 Ω
E29-10 (LIN) or E26-5 (LIN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK

4.CHECK STEERING LOCK ACTUATOR (BATTERY VOLTAGE AND BODY GROUND)

Disconnect the E26 ECU connector.

Measure the resistance and voltage according to the value(s) in the tables below.

Standard Resistance:
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
E26-1 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

Standard Voltage:
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
E26-7 (B) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

5.REPLACE STEERING LOCK ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY

Temporarily replace the steering lock actuator with a new or normally functioning one ().

Clear the DTC ().
