Variable Gear Ratio Steering System - How To Proceed With Troubleshooting
VARIABLE GEAR RATIO STEERING SYSTEM - HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING
Use the following procedures to troubleshoot the variable gear ratio steering system.
*: Use the intelligent tester.
1.VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP |
2.INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE |
- Standard voltage:
- 11 to 14 V
If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding.
3.CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM* |
Using the intelligent tester, check if the CAN communication system is functioning normally ( for LHD, for RHD).

Recheck for DTCs ().
Simulate the malfunction and check if the DTCs are output again ().
