Theft Deterrent System (W/O Intrusion Sensor) -- System Description



THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM
The theft deterrent system will operate when somebody attempts to forcibly enter the vehicle, unlock any door or luggage compartment door or open the engine hood or the luggage compartment door without using the key. This system causes the interior light to light up, hazard warning lights, headlights and taillights to blink and the vehicle horn and security horn to sound in order to deter break-in and theft.
  1. The security indicator comes on or blinks to inform the driver that the alarm is set or not set.
  2. The system locks all doors if any door is unlocked during the time that the alarm is activated.
  3. The main body ECU RH controls this system.

Door lock position switch
Detects door status (locked or unlocked).
Engine hood courtesy switch
Detects engine hood status (open or closed).
Luggage compartment door courtesy switch
Detects luggage compartment door status (open or closed).
Power source ECU
Detects engine switch status (off or on (IG)).
HINT:
How to determine if the vehicle is equipped with the intrusion sensor:
Check if "INTRUSION SENSOR ON/OFF" item can be selected by operating the satellite switch.
If "INTRUSION SENSOR ON/OFF" item can be selected, the intrusion sensor is installed, and if not, the sensor is not installed. If the vehicle is equipped with the intrusion sensor, proceed to "THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM (w/ Intrusion Sensor)".

SYSTEM FUNCTION

    1. The alarm function is not operating.
    2. The theft deterrent system is not operating.

  2. Arming preparation state:

    1. The time until the system goes into the armed state.
    2. The theft deterrent system is not operating.

  3. Armed state:

    1. The theft deterrent system is operating.

  4. Alarm sounding state:

    1. The alarm function is operating.
    Alarm time:
    Approx. 30 sec.
