INSPECTION PROCEDURE
- HINT:
- Perform the simulation method by selecting the "check mode" (signal check) with the intelligent tester (Click here).
- After selecting the "check mode" (signal check), perform the simulation method by wiggling each connector of the airbag system or driving the vehicle on a city or rough road (Click here).
1.CHECK REAR SEAT AIRBAG ASSEMBLY LH (REAR SIDE SQUIB LH) |
Turn the engine switch off.
![]() |
Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
Disconnect the connector from the rear seat airbag assembly LH.
Connect the black wire side of SST (resistance 2.1 Ω) to connector "C".
- CAUTION:
- Never connect a tester to the rear seat airbag assembly LH (Rear side squib LH) for measurement, as the may lead to a serious injury due to airbag deployment.
- NOTICE:
- Do not forcibly insert the SST into the terminals of the connector when connecting.
- Insert straight the SST into the terminals of the connector.
- SST
- 09843-18060
Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait for at least 2 seconds.
Turn the engine switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.
Clear the DTCs stored in memory (Click here).
Turn the engine switch off.
Turn the engine switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.
Check the DTCs (Click here).
- OK:
- DTC B1855, B1856, B1857, B1858 or 63 is not output.
- HINT:
- Codes other than DTC B1855, B1856, B1857, B1858 and 63 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.

Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
Disconnect the SST (resistance 2.1 Ω) from the floor wire No.2.
Disconnect the connectors from the center airbag sensor assembly.
Check the short to B+ in the circuit.
Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait for at least 2 seconds.
Turn the ignition switch on (IG).
Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
- Voltage:
Tester connection Condition Specified condition W14-2 (SRL+) -
Body groundEngine switch on (IG) Below 1 V W14-1 (SRL-) -
Body groundEngine switch on (IG) Below 1 V
Check the open in the circuit.
Turn the ignition switch off.
Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
- Resistance:
Tester connection Condition Specified condition W14-2 (SRL+) -
W14-1 (SRL-)Always Below 1 Ω
Check the short to ground in the circuit.
Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
- Resistance:
Tester connection Condition Specified condition W14-2 (SRL+) -
Body groundAlways 1 MΩ or higher W14-1 (SRL-) -
Body groundAlways 1 MΩ or higher
Check the short in the circuit.
Release the activation prevention mechanism built into connector "B" (Click here).
Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
- Resistance:
