Water Hose Joint (For 3Gr-Fse) Removal
DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
REMOVE UNION TO CHECK VALVE HOSE (for RHD)
REMOVE ENGINE REAR COVER
DISCONNECT HEATER BLOWER WIRE
REMOVE WATER BY-PASS GLOW PLUG
REMOVE HEATER BLOWER WIRE
DISCONNECT NO. 7 WATER BY-PASS HOSE
DISCONNECT NO. 8 WATER BY-PASS HOSE
REMOVE WATER HOSE JOINT
Water Hose Joint (For 3Gr-Fse) -- Removal |
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL |
- CAUTION:
- Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
2. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY |
Remove the 2 nuts and V-bank cover.
3. REMOVE UNION TO CHECK VALVE HOSE (for RHD) |
Disconnect the hose from the surge tank.
4. REMOVE ENGINE REAR COVER |
Remove the 3 clips and engine rear cover.
5. DISCONNECT HEATER BLOWER WIRE |
Remove the 2 grommets.
Remove the 2 nuts while using your hands to make sure the terminal directions (angles) of the 2 wires do not change.
Remove the 2 plate washers and disconnect the 2 wires.
- HINT:
- Before removing the 2 plate washers and disconnecting the 2 wires, check the terminal directions (angles) of the 2 wires so that they can be reinstalled in the same direction.
Remove the 2 wave washers.
6. REMOVE WATER BY-PASS GLOW PLUG |
Remove the glow plug.
- HINT:
- Collect the engine coolant in a container.
7. REMOVE HEATER BLOWER WIRE |
Disconnect the connector.
- HINT:
- If the engine block heater bracket needs to be replaced, disconnect it from the connector.
- NOTICE:
- Be careful not to damage the plastic connector's lock tab.
Remove the 2 bolts and wire.
8. DISCONNECT NO. 7 WATER BY-PASS HOSE |
Using pliers, grip the claws of the clamp and slide the clamp to disconnect the water hose.
- HINT:
- Before disconnecting the hose, check the clamp position so that it can be reinstalled in the same position.
- Collect the engine coolant in a container.
9. DISCONNECT NO. 8 WATER BY-PASS HOSE |
Using pliers, grip the claws of the clamp and slide the clamp to disconnect the water hose.
- HINT:
- Before removing the hose, check the clamp position so that it can be reinstalled in the same position.
- Collect the engine coolant in a container.
10. REMOVE WATER HOSE JOINT |
Remove the bolt and hose joint.
