Rear Axle Hub Bolt -- Replacement |
1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL |
2. SEPARATE REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY |
Remove the 2 bolts, and disconnect the rear disc brake caliper assembly.
- NOTICE:
- Use a wire or an equivalent to keep the brake caliper from hanging down by the flexible hose.

Remove the caliper plates No.1 from the brake caliper.
3. REMOVE REAR DISC |
Release the parking brake.
Put matchmarks on the rear disc and rear axle hub.

Remove the rear disc.
- HINT:
- If the disc cannot be removed easily, turn the shoe adjuster until the wheel turns smoothly.
4. REMOVE REAR AXLE HUB BOLT |
Using SST, and remove the rear axle hub bolt.
- SST
- 09628-10011
- NOTICE:
- Do not damage the threads of the hub bolts.

5. INSTALL REAR AXLE HUB BOLT |
Install a washer and nut to a new bolt as shown in the illustration.

Using a screwdriver or an equivalent to hold the hub & bearing assembly, install the rear axle hub bolt by tightening the nut.
- NOTICE:
- Do not damage the threads of the hub bolts.
6. INSTALL REAR DISC |
Aligning the matchmarks, install the rear disc.
- HINT:
- When replacing the rear disc with a new one, select the installation position where the rear disc has the minimum runout.

7. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY |
Install the rear disc brake caliper assembly and caliper plates No.1 with the 2 bolts.
- Torque:
- 54 N*m{551 kgf*cm, 40 ft.*lbf}
- NOTICE:
- Do not twist the rear brake hose when installing the rear disc brake caliper.
- Make sure that there are no foreign objects or damage to the threads.
- Do not overtighten the bolts because the hub carrier is made of aluminum and may be damaged.

8. ADJUST PARKING BRAKE SHOE CLEARANCE |
Temporarily install the hub nuts.
Remove the shoe adjusting hole plug.
Turn the shoe adjuster and expand the shoe until the disc locks.
Turn and contract the shoe adjuster until the disc can rotate smoothly.
- Standard:
- Return 7 notches

Check that there is no brake drag against the shoe.
Install the shoe adjusting hole plug.
Remove the hub nuts.
9. INSTALL REAR WHEEL |
- Torque:
- 103 N*m{1,050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf}
