Extension Housing Rear Oil Seal -- Removal |
| 1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL |
| 2. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER NO.2 |
| 3. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY |
| 4. REMOVE PROPELLER W/CENTER BEARING SHAFT ASSEMBLY |
| 5. DRAIN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID |
Remove the drain plug, the gasket , and drain the ATF.
 |
Install a new gasket and the drain plug.
- Torque:
- 20 N*m{205 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf}
| 6. REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLANGE YOKE ASSEMBLY |
Using SST and a hammer, loosen the staked part of the nut.

- HINT:
- Move the shift lever to the P position.

Set the SST.

Using SST and 30 mm socket wrench, remove the nut.
 |
Remove the SST.
Tap the output flange with a plastic hammer to remove it.
Using a screwdriver, remove the oil seal from the automatic transmission flange yoke.
 |
| 7. REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION EXTENSION HOUSING OIL SEAL |
Using SST, remove the oil seal.
