Lighting System -- Precaution |
1.IGNITION SWITCH EXPRESSION |
- HINT:
- The type of ignition switch used on this model differs according to the specifications of the vehicle. The expressions listed in the table below are used in this section.
Expression | Ignition Switch (position) | Engine Switch (condition) |
Ignition Switch off | Off | Off |
Ignition Switch ON | ON | On (IG) |
Ignition Switch ACC | ACC | On (ACC) |
Engine Start | START | Start |
2.PRECAUTION FOR HEADLIGHT BULB REPLACEMENT (for Halogen Headlight, Halogen Headlight and LED) |
If even a thin film of oil is left on the surface of a headlight bulb, its service life will be shortened because the light will burn at a higher temperature. When replacing a bulb, be sure to hold the flanged part of the light so that your hand does not contact the glass part of the light.
Always prepare a new bulb for immediate replacement. While replacing a bulb, the lens may attract dust and moisture if removed from the vehicle for a long time.
Always replace a bulb with another bulb of the same wattage.
If only replacing the bulb on one side, differences in brightness and lighting color between the right and left sides may occur.
Securely install the socket after bulb replacement. The lens may become cloudy or the light cavity may fill with water through gaps around the socket if the socket is not installed securely.
3.PRECAUTION FOR AUTOMATIC HIGH BEAM SYSTEM (w/ Pre-crash Safety System) |
Precautions for replacing windshield
The timing for switching high and low beams varies depending on the light transmission of the windshield, so be sure to replace the windshield with genuine parts.
When performing removal, installation or replacement of the windshield glass, it is necessary to perform "Recognition Camera/ Target Position Memory" and "Beam Axis Learning" (Click here).
When replacing the windshield glass of a vehicle equipped with a forward recognition camera, make sure to use a Toyota genuine part. If a non-Toyota genuine part is used, the forward recognition camera may not be able to be installed due to a missing bracket or the pre-crash system may not operate properly due to a difference in the transmissivity or black ceramic border.
Do not attach such as stickers (including transparent stickers) or an antenna items to the outer side of the windshield glass within the area shown in the illustration in front of the forward recognition camera.
4.PRECAUTION FOR REPLACING FORWARD RECOGNITION CAMERA (w/ Pre-crash Safety System) |
When replacing the forward recognition camera with a new one, it is necessary to perform "Recognition Camera/Target Position Memory" and "Beam Axis Learning" (Click here). If the system is operated when "Recognition Camera/ Target Position Memory" and "Beam Axis Learning" have not been performed, C1AA9 is output (Click here).
When replacing the forward recognition camera, replace it with a new one. If an ECU which was installed to another vehicle is used, the information stored in the forward recognition camera will not match the information from the vehicle and, as a result, a DTC may be output.
When replacing or removing and installing the forward recognition camera, do not damage the camera lens or allow it to become contaminated with foreign matter.
Do not reuse a forward recognition camera that has been dropped or subjected to a strong impact.
