1. INSPECT WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY (for RH Side) |
Check the windshield wiper switch.
Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
- Standard Resistance:
Front Wiper Switch (w/o Rain Sensor) Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition E16-1 (+S) - E16-3 (+1) INT Below 1 Ω OFF E16-2 (+B) - E16-3 (+1) MIST LO E16-2 (+B) - E16-4 (+2) HI
- Standard Resistance:
Front Wiper Switch (w/ Rain Sensor) Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition E16-1 (+S) - E16-3 (+1) AUTO Below 1 Ω OFF E16-2 (+B) - E16-3 (+1) MIST LO E16-2 (+B) - E16-4 (+2) HI

Check the front washer switch.
Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
- Standard Resistance:
Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition E15-2 (EW) - E15-3 (WF) On Below 1 Ω Off 10 kΩ or higher
Check the intermittent operation.
Connect the voltmeter positive (+) lead to terminal E16-3 (+1) and the negative (-) lead to terminal E15-2 (EW).
Connect the battery positive (+) lead to terminal E16-2 (+B) and the negative (-) lead to terminal E15-2 (EW) and E16-1 (+S).
Turn the wiper switch to the INT position.
Connect the battery positive (+) lead to terminal E16-1 (+S) for 5 seconds.
Connect the battery negative (-) lead to terminal E16-1 (+S). Operate the intermittent wiper relay and check the voltage between terminals E16-3 (+1) and E15-2 (EW).
- Standard Voltage:
- Refer to the illustration below.
If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assembly.
Check the front washer operation.
Turn the wiper switch OFF.
Connect the battery positive (+) lead to terminal E16-2 (+B) and the negative (-) lead to terminals E16-1 (+S) and E15-2 (EW).
Connect the voltmeter positive (+) lead to E16-3 (+1) and the negative (-) lead to terminal E15-2 (EW).
Turn the washer switch ON and OFF, and check the voltage between terminals E16-3 (+1) and E15-2 (EW).
- OK:
- Refer to the illustration below.
If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assembly.
Check the rear wiper switch.
Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
- Standard Resistance:
Rear Wiper Switch (w/ Rear Wiper Intermittent Function) Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition E15-2 (EW) - E15-6 (C1R) LO Below 1 Ω E15-2 (EW) - E15-7 (+1R) HI E15-2 (EW) - E15-6 (C1R) OFF 10 kΩ or higher E15-2 (EW) - E15-7 (+1R)
- Standard Resistance:
Rear Wiper Switch (w/o Rear Wiper Intermittent Function) Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition E15-2 (EW) - E15-7 (+1R) ON Below 1 Ω E15-2 (EW) - E15-7 (+1R) OFF 10 kΩ or higher

Check the rear washer switch.
Measure the resistance of the switch.
- Standard Resistance:
Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition E15-2 (EW) - E16-5 (WR) On Below 1 Ω Off 10 kΩ or higher

Check the windshield wiper switch.
Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
- Standard Resistance:
Front Wiper Switch (w/o Rain Sensor) Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition E16-4 (+S) - E16-2 (+1) INT Below 1 Ω OFF E16-3 (+B) - E16-2 (+1) MIST LO E16-3 (+B) - E16-1 (+2) HI
- Standard Resistance:

Check the front washer switch.
Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
- Standard Resistance:
Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition E15-2 (EW) - E15-1 (WF) On Below 1 Ω Off 10 kΩ or higher
Check the intermittent operation.
Connect the voltmeter positive (+) lead to terminal E16-2 (+1) and the negative (-) lead to terminal E15-2 (EW).
Connect the battery positive (+) lead to terminal E16-3 (+B) and the negative (-) lead to terminal E15-2 (EW) and E16-4 (+S).
Turn the wiper switch to the INT position.
Connect the battery positive (+) lead to terminal E16-4 (+S) for 5 seconds.
Connect the battery negative (-) lead to terminal E16-4 (+S). Operate the intermittent wiper relay and check the voltage between terminals E16-2 (+1) and E15-2 (EW).
- Standard Voltage:
- Refer to the illustration below.
If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assembly.
Check the front washer operation.
Turn the wiper switch OFF.
Connect the battery positive (+) lead to terminal E16-3 (+B) and the negative (-) lead to terminals E16-4 (+S) and E15-2 (EW).
Connect the voltmeter positive (+) lead to E16-2 (+1) and the negative (-) lead to terminal E15-2 (EW).
Turn the washer switch ON and OFF, and check the voltage between terminals E16-2 (+1) and E15-2 (EW).
- OK:
- Refer to the illustration below.
If the result is not as specified, replace the windshield wiper switch assembly.
Check the rear wiper switch.
Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
- Standard Resistance:
Rear Wiper Switch (w/ Rear Wiper Intermittent Function) Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition E15-2 (EW) - E15-5 (C1R) LO Below 1 Ω E15-2 (EW) - E15-4 (+1R) HI E15-2 (EW) - E15-5 (C1R) OFF 10 kΩ or higher E15-2 (EW) - E15-4 (+1R)
- Standard Resistance:
Rear Wiper Switch (w/o Rear Wiper Intermittent Function) Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition E15-2 (EW) - E15-4 (+1R) ON Below 1 Ω E15-2 (EW) - E15-4 (+1R) OFF 10 kΩ or higher
