Front Door -- Disassembly


HINT:
  1. Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.
  2. The procedure listed below is for the LH side.


1. PRECAUTION
NOTICE:
After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (Click here).


2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Click here).


3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE MOULDING SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (w/ Outside Moulding)

  1. Put protective tape around the front door outside moulding sub-assembly LH.

  1. Using a moulding remover, detach the 3 clamps and 11 clips, and remove the front door outside moulding sub-assembly LH.

  1. Remove any clips remaining on the door panel.

    NOTICE:
    Be careful not to allow any clips or pieces of clips to fall inside the door panel.


4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOWER FRAME BRACKET GARNISH LH

  1. Detach the clip and claw, and remove the front door lower frame bracket garnish LH.



5. REMOVE COURTESY LIGHT ASSEMBLY (w/ Courtesy Light)

  1. Detach the claw.

  1. Remove the courtesy light and then disconnect the connector.



6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL LH

  1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws and remove the front door inside handle bezel LH.

    HINT:
    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

7. REMOVE FRONT UPPER ARMREST BASE PANEL LH

  1. Using a moulding remover, detach the 5 claws.

  1. Disconnect the connector and remove the armrest base panel.



8. REMOVE MULTIPLEX NETWORK MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the 3 screws and master switch.



9. REMOVE DOOR ASSIST GRIP COVER LH

  1. Using a moulding remover, detach the 8 claws and remove the door assist grip cover LH.



10. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

  1. Remove the 3 screws.

  1. Remove the 13 clips.

  1. Remove the front inner door glass weatherstrip LH together with the front door trim board sub-assembly LH by pulling them upward in the order shown in the illustration.

    HINT:
    Make sure that the pin labeled A in the illustration is detached from the door panel.

  1. Disconnect the connector.

  1. Disconnect the 2 cables from the front door inside handle sub-assembly LH.



11. REMOVE FRONT INNER DOOR GLASS WEATHERSTRIP LH

  1. Detach the 4 clips and remove the front inner door glass weatherstrip LH from the front door trim board sub-assembly LH.

    NOTICE:
    1. Squeeze the metal clip to remove it.
    2. The metal clip may be deformed if it is forcibly pulled.


12. REMOVE SEAT MEMORY SWITCH (w/ Seat Position Memory System)

  1. Disconnect the connector.

  1. Remove the screw and seat memory switch.



13. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

  1. Detach the 2 claws and remove the front door inside handle sub-assembly LH.



14. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL LH

  1. Remove the 7 screws and front door inside handle bezel LH.



15. REMOVE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH

  1. w/ Power Mirror Control System:

    1. Disconnect the connector labeled A.

    2. Detach the clamp.

  1. Remove the 3 nuts and claw.

  1. Remove the outer rear view mirror.



16. REMOVE OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY (w/ Seat Position Memory System)

  1. Disconnect the 2 connectors.

  1. Remove the 2 screws and outer mirror control ECU.



17. REMOVE FRONT DOOR PANEL PROTECTOR LH

  1. Remove the screw, and remove the front No. 1 door stiffener cushion and front door panel protector LH.



18. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY

  1. Disconnect the speaker connector.

  1. Remove the 4 screws and speaker.

    NOTICE:
    Do not touch the cone part of the speaker.


19. REMOVE SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY LH

  1. Disconnect the connector.

  1. Remove the bolt and side airbag sensor.



20. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER LH

  1. Using a clip remover, detach the 9 clamps.

  1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the 2 connectors.

  1. Remove the front door service hole cover LH.

    HINT:
    Remove the remaining tape on the door.


21. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

  1. Driver Side:
    Temporarily install the multiplex network master switch.

  1. Passenger Side:
    Temporarily install the power window regulator switch assembly.

  1. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.

  1. Move the front door glass sub-assembly until the bolts appear in the service holes.

  1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

  1. Remove the 2 bolts.

    NOTICE:
    Be careful when removing the bolts as the glass may fall and become damaged.

  1. Remove the front door glass sub-assembly in the direction indicated by the arrows in the illustration.

    HINT:
    Remove the front door glass sub-assembly upward.
    NOTICE:
    Be careful not to damage the glass.

  1. Driver Side:
    Remove the multiplex network master switch.

  1. Passenger Side:
    Remove the power window regulator switch assembly.



22. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS RUN LH

  1. Remove the front door glass run LH.



23. REMOVE FRONT DOOR REAR LOWER FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

  1. Remove the bolt and front door rear lower frame sub-assembly LH.



24. REMOVE LOWER DOOR FRAME GARNISH LH

  1. Detach the claw and remove the lower door frame garnish LH.



25. REMOVE FRONT DOOR BELT MOULDING SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

  1. Put protective tape around the belt moulding.

  1. Detach the claw and remove the belt moulding.



26. REMOVE FRONT DOOR REAR WINDOW FRAME MOULDING LH

  1. Put protective tape around the window frame moulding.

  1. Detach the clip and remove the double-sided tape to remove the window frame moulding.



27. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

  1. Loosen the temporary bolt.

  1. Remove the 5 bolts, and front door window regulator sub-assembly LH.

    HINT:
    Remove the front door window regulator sub-assembly LH through the service hole.
    NOTICE:
    Be careful when removing the bolts as the front door window regulator sub-assembly LH may fall and become damaged.

  1. Remove the front door window regulator sub-assembly LH and the front power window regulator motor assembly LH as a unit.

  1. Remove the temporary bolt from the front door window regulator sub-assembly LH.



28. REMOVE FRONT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY LH

  1. Using a T25 "TORX" driver, remove the 3 screws and motor.

    NOTICE:
    Be careful when removing the screws as the motor may fall and become damaged.

29. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE COVER LH

  1. Remove the hole plug.

  1. Using a T30 "TORX" wrench, loosen the screw and remove the front door outside handle cover LH with the door lock cylinder installed.

  1. Detach the 2 claws and remove the front door outside handle cover LH.



30. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSEMBLY LH

  1. w/ Entry and Start System:

    1. Disconnect the connector.

  1. Using a T30 "TORX" wrench, loosen the screw.

  1. Remove the front door outside handle assembly LH by sliding and pulling it in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration.

    NOTICE:
    If the release plate is not pulled and held when removing the front door outside handle assembly LH, the release plate will interfere with the front door outside handle assembly LH and become damaged.


31. REMOVE FRONT DOOR FRONT OUTSIDE HANDLE PAD LH

  1. Detach the 3 claws and remove the front door front outside handle pad LH.

  1. Detach the 2 claws and remove the front door rear outside handle pad LH.



33. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY LH

  1. Using a T30 "TORX" wrench, remove the 3 screws.

    HINT:
    Remove the door lock through the service hole.
    NOTICE:
    Be careful when removing the screws as the door lock may fall and become damaged.


34. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK REMOTE CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY LH

  1. Remove the front door lock remote control cable assembly LH.

  1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 3 claws.

  1. Using a T30 "TORX" wrench, loosen the screw.

  1. Detach the 2 claws. Slide the front door outside handle frame sub-assembly LH and No. 2 electrical key wire harness to remove it.

    HINT:
    Remove the front door outside handle frame sub-assembly LH through the service hole.


37. REMOVE NO. 2 ELECTRICAL KEY WIRE HARNESS (w/ Entry and Start System)

  1. Disconnect the connector.

  1. Detach the 3 clamps and remove the wire harness from the front door outside handle frame sub-assembly.



38. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK OPEN ROD LH

  1. Remove the front door lock open rod LH.



39. REMOVE DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR (w/ Entry and Start System)

  1. Remove the screw and door electrical key oscillator.



40. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 DOOR STIFFENER CUSHION

  1. Remove the 2 bolts.

  1. Detach the 2 clamps and front No. 2 door stiffener cushion.



41. REMOVE FRONT DOOR CHECK COVER LH (w/ Cover)

  1. Remove the front door check cover LH.



42. REMOVE FRONT DOOR CHECK ASSEMBLY LH

  1. Remove the bolt, 2 nuts and front door check assembly LH.

    NOTICE:
    Be careful when removing the bolt and nuts as the front door check assembly LH may fall and become damaged.
    HINT:
    Remove the front door check assembly LH through the service hole.


43. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WEATHERSTRIP LH


  1. Using a clip remover, detach the 21 clips and remove the front door weatherstrip LH.

    HINT:
    If clips are damaged during removal, replace them.
