AIRBAG SYSTEM - SRS Warning Light does not Come ON

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
  1. After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (Click here).
  2. When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Click here).
1.CHECK BATTERY
  1. Measure the voltage of the battery.

    Standard Voltage:
    11 to 14 V


NG
REPLACE OR RECHARGE BATTERY
OK


2.CHECK CONNECTOR
  1. Turn the ignition switch off.

  1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds.

  1. Check that the connectors are properly connected to the combination meter.

    OK:
    The connectors are properly connected.

3.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SOURCE VOLTAGE OF COMBINATION METER)

  1. Turn the ignition switch off.

  1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds.

  1. Disconnect the E7 connector from the combination meter.

  1. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 2 seconds.

  1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Voltage:
    Tester Connection
    Switch Condition
    Specified Condition
    E7-18 (IG+) - E7-17 (B)
    Ignition switch ON
    11 to 14 V
    E7-17 (B) - E7-15 (ET)
    Always
    11 to 14 V

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

4.CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT (SHORT TO GROUND)
  1. Turn the ignition switch off.

  1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds.

  1. Connect the connector to the combination meter.

  1. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 2 seconds.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

  1. Check the SRS warning light condition.

    NOTICE:
    Make sure that nobody is in the vehicle.
    OK:
    After the primary check period, the SRS warning light goes off for approximately 10 seconds and then remains on.
    HINT:
    The primary check period is approximately 6 seconds after the ignition switch is turned to ON.
