  1. REMOVE LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER

  2. REMOVE UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER

  3. REMOVE TRANSPONDER KEY AMPLIFIER

Ignition Key Cylinder Light -- Removal


HINT:
  1. Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.
  2. The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.


1. REMOVE LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER


    Land Cruiser. Urj200, 202 Grj200 Vdj200

  1. Remove the 3 screws.

  1. Detach the 2 claws to remove the lower steering column cover.



2. REMOVE UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER


    Land Cruiser. Urj200, 202 Grj200 Vdj200

  1. Detach the 4 clips.

  1. Detach the claw to remove the upper steering column cover.



3. REMOVE TRANSPONDER KEY AMPLIFIER


    Land Cruiser. Urj200, 202 Grj200 Vdj200

  1. Turn the key amplifier as shown in the illustration to detach the 2 claws and remove the key amplifier. Using a screwdriver, widen the claw attached to the upper bracket by approximately 1.0 mm (0.039 in.).

  1. Pull out the transponder key amplifier with the claw open.

  1. Disconnect the connector and remove the transponder key amplifier.
