  1. REMOVE LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER

  2. REMOVE UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER

  3. REMOVE TRANSPONDER KEY AMPLIFIER

Transponder Key Amplifier -- Removal


HINT:
  1. Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.
  2. The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.


1. REMOVE LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER

  1. for Manual Tilt and Manual Telescopic Steering Column:

    1. Remove the lower steering column cover (Click here).

  1. for Power Tilt and Power Telescopic Steering Column:

    1. Remove the lower steering column cover (Click here).



2. REMOVE UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER

  1. for Manual Tilt and Manual Telescopic Steering Column:

    1. Remove the upper steering column cover (Click here).

  1. for Power Tilt and Power Telescopic Steering Column:

    1. Remove the upper steering column cover (Click here).



3. REMOVE TRANSPONDER KEY AMPLIFIER


    Land Cruiser. Urj200, 202 Grj200 Vdj200

  1. Using a screwdriver, widen the claw attached to the upper bracket by approximately 1.0 mm (0.039 in.).

  1. Pull out the transponder key amplifier with the claw open.

  1. Disconnect the connector and remove the transponder key amplifier.
