DTC B15B8 Harddisk Malfunction


DESCRIPTION

This DTC is stored when the hard disk drive (HDD), which is built into the multi-media module receiver assembly, has an initialization malfunction or read/write errors occur more than a specified number of times.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
Depending on the parts that are replaced during vehicle inspection or maintenance, performing initialization, registration or calibration may be needed. Refer to Precaution for Navigation System (Click here).
1.CHECK HARD DISK DRIVE (HDD) (OPERATION CHECK)


    Land Cruiser. Urj200, 202 Grj200 Vdj200
  1. Enter the "HDD Check" screen. Refer to Check Hard Disk Drive (HDD) in Operation Check (Click here).

  1. Select "HDD Check" and check the result.

    OK:
    "OK" is displayed.
    HINT:
    After "HDD Check" is selected, it may take a while until the result is displayed.

Go to step 4

2.CLEAR DTC
  1. Clear the DTCs (Click here).

3.CHECK DTC
  1. Recheck for DTCs and check if the same DTC is output again (Click here).

    OK:
    No DTCs are output.
    HINT:
    The hard disk drive (HDD) may be malfunctioning even if DTC B15B8 is not output.

USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK (Click here)

4.REPLACE HARD DISC DRIVE (HDD)
  1. Replace the Hard disc drive (HDD) with a new or normally functioning one (Click here).

  1. Clear the DTCs (Click here).

6.CHECK DTC
  1. Recheck for DTCs and check if the same DTC is output again (Click here).

    OK:
    No DTCs are output.
