  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  2. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (w/ Driver Side Knee Airbag)

  3. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/o Driver Side Knee Airbag)

  4. REMOVE NO. 1 SWITCH HOLE BASE

  5. REMOVE STEERING CONTROL ECU

Steering Control Ecu (For Rhd) -- Removal



1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
NOTICE:
  1. After the engine switch is turned off, the navigation system requires approximately 90 seconds to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 90 seconds or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
  2. When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Click here).


2. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (w/ Driver Side Knee Airbag)

3. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/o Driver Side Knee Airbag)
(Click here)


4. REMOVE NO. 1 SWITCH HOLE BASE

  1. Put protective tape around the No. 1 switch hole base.

  1. Detach the 4 claws.

  1. Disconnect the connectors and remove the No. 1 switch hole base.



5. REMOVE STEERING CONTROL ECU


  1. Remove the bolt and 2 nuts.

  1. Disconnect the connectors from the junction block.

  1. Remove the bolt, detach the claw and remove steering control ECU from the junction block.
