Front Shock Absorber -- Reassembly



1. INSTALL FRONT COIL SPRING LH

  1. Secure SST in a vise.

    SST

  1. Attach the arm of SST to the diameter of the coil spring.

    CAUTION:
    1. Make sure that the coil spring is installed so that the distance between the upper and lower hooks of SST is at the maximum.
    2. Make sure that the claws of the hooks are securely attached.
  1. Using SST, compress the coil spring.

    CAUTION:
    1. If the coil spring bends during the compression, immediately stop the compression and reinstall SST.
    2. Do not compress the spring until the coil springs contact each other.
    3. Do not use an impact wrench.

  1. Install the coil spring to the shock absorber.

    HINT:
    Fit the lower end of the coil spring into the recess of the spring seat of the shock absorber.


2. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
  1. Install the 2 cushions, 2 retainers and suspension support to the piston rod.

  1. Temporarily install a new front shock absorber nut to the suspension support.



  1. Position the suspension support as shown in the illustration.

  1. Remove SST.

    NOTICE:
    Do not use an impact wrench. It will damage the shock absorber rod.
    HINT:
    Release the coil spring while checking the position of the suspension support.


3. TIGHTEN FRONT SUPPORT TO FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER NUT
  1. Tighten the nut.

    Torque:
    65 N*m{575 kgf*cm, 48 ft.*lbf}
