DESCRIPTION

When the transfer shift actuator assembly is switching between free and lock, the TL2 and TL3 terminals are in one of the ON/OFF combinations listed in the table below.

A malfunction is detected depending on the combination of the 2 circuits that make up the center differential lock limit switch.

  1. When switching between free and lock (center differential lock shift motor operating) while the ignition switch is turned to ON or directly after the ignition switch is turned to ON
  2. The combination of TL2 and TL3 does not match
  3. 0.05 seconds or more (if directly after ignition switch is turned to ON, 1 second or more)

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (4 WHEEL DRIVE CONTROL ECU - TRANSFER SHIFT ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY)
  1. Disconnect the A27 4 wheel drive control ECU connector.

  1. Disconnect the C37 transfer shift actuator assembly connector.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance:

    A27-10 (TL2) - C37-6 (TL2)

    Below 1 Ω
    A27-9 (TL3) - C37-5 (TL3)

  1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
