  2. REMOVE TRANSFER CASE ADAPTER REAR OIL SEAL

  3. INSTALL TRANSFER CASE ADAPTER REAR OIL SEAL

  4. INSTALL TRANSFER ASSEMBLY

Transfer Adapter Oil Seal -- Replacement



1. REMOVE TRANSFER ASSEMBLY

2. REMOVE TRANSFER CASE ADAPTER REAR OIL SEAL

  1. Using a screwdriver, pry out the transfer case adapter rear oil seal.

    NOTICE:
    Do not damage the surface of the oil seal press fit hole or output shaft.
    HINT:
    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.


3. INSTALL TRANSFER CASE ADAPTER REAR OIL SEAL

  1. Coat the lip of a new transfer case adapter rear oil seal with MP grease.

  1. Using SST and a hammer, tap in the transfer case adapter rear oil seal.

    Standard depth:
    0 to 1.0 mm (0 to 0.0393 in.) (from edge of rear transfer adapter)

    NOTICE:
    1. Keep the lip of the transfer case adapter rear oil seal free from foreign matter.
    2. Do not tap in the transfer case adapter rear oil seal at an angle.
