  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  3. REMOVE V-BANK COVER

  4. REMOVE FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT

  5. REMOVE GENERATOR ASSEMBLY

Generator -- Removal



1. PRECAUTION
NOTICE:
After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (HILUX_TGN26 RM000004QR1006X.html).


2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (HILUX_TGN26 RM000004QR300CX.html).


3. REMOVE V-BANK COVER


    Hilux. Tgn26, 36 Kun25, 26, 35, 36 Ggn25
  1. Remove the 2 nuts and V-bank cover.



4. REMOVE FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT

  1. While turning the belt tensioner counterclockwise, align the service hole for the belt tensioner and the belt tensioner fixing position, and then insert a bar with a diameter of 6.0 mm (0.236 in.) into the service hole to fix the belt tensioner in place.

    HINT:
    The pulley bolt for the belt tensioner has a left-hand thread.
  1. Remove the fan and generator V belt.



5. REMOVE GENERATOR ASSEMBLY

  1. Disconnect the terminal cap.

  1. Disconnect the generator connector.

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and nut, and then disconnect the generator wire.

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and generator.
