Starter (For Denso Made) Installation

  1. INSTALL STARTER ASSEMBLY

  2. CONNECT CLUTCH RELEASE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transmission)

  3. INSTALL TRANSMISSION OIL FILLER TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transmission)

  4. INSTALL FRONT FENDER SEAL

  5. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

Starter (For Denso Made) -- Installation



1. INSTALL STARTER ASSEMBLY

  1. for Automatic Transmission:
    Install the starter and ground cable with the 2 nuts and bolt.

    Torque:
    68 N*m{693 kgf*cm, 50 ft.*lbf}

  1. for Manual Transmission:
    Install the starter and ground cable with the nut and bolt.

    Torque:
    68 N*m{693 kgf*cm, 50 ft.*lbf}

  1. Install the starter wire to terminal 30 with the nut.

    Torque:
    9.8 N*m{100 kgf*cm, 87 in.*lbf}

  1. Connect the starter connector.



2. CONNECT CLUTCH RELEASE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transmission)

  1. Install the clutch release cylinder with the 2 bolts.

    Torque:
    for TR Engine series:
    12 N*m{120 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf}
    for 1KD-FTV, 2KD-FTV:
    12 N*m{119 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf}


3. INSTALL TRANSMISSION OIL FILLER TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transmission)

  1. Coat a new O-ring with ATF, and install it to the oil filler tube.

  1. Install the oil filler tube with the 2 bolts.

    Torque:
    12 N*m{122 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf}

  1. Install the oil dipstick.



4. INSTALL FRONT FENDER SEAL

  1. Install the seal with the 5 clips.



5. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (HILUX_TGN26 RM000004QR3008X.html).
