1. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH |

Check the operation.
Apply battery voltage to the outer rear view mirror and check the operation of the outer rear view mirror.
- OK:
Measurement Condition Mirror Assembly Operation Battery positive (+) - Terminal 5 (MV)
Battery negative (-) - Terminal 4 (COM)Turns upward Battery positive (+) - Terminal 4 (COM)
Battery negative (-) - Terminal 5 (MV)Turns downward Battery positive (+) - Terminal 3 (MH)
Battery negative (-) - Terminal 4 (COM)Turns left Battery positive (+) - Terminal 4 (COM)
Battery negative (-) - Terminal 3 (MH)Turns right
w/ Mirror heater:
Check the resistance.Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals.
- Standard Resistance:
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 1 - 2 25°C (75°F) 8 to 11 Ω
Connect the cable from the negative battery (-) terminal to terminal 1 and the positive battery (+) terminal to terminal 2, then check that the mirror becomes warm.
- OK:
- Mirror becomes warm.
- HINT:
- It takes a short time for the mirror to become warm.
