  2. INSPECT SEAT POSITION AIRBAG SENSOR (for Vehicle Involved in Collision and Airbag has Deployed)

Seat Position Sensor (For Hatchback) -- On-Vehicle Inspection


CAUTION:
Be sure to correctly follow the removal and installation procedures for the seat position airbag sensor.


1. INSPECT SEAT POSITION AIRBAG SENSOR (for Vehicle not Involved in Collision)

  1. Perform a diagnostic system check (YARIS_NCP93 RM000000XFE0EEX.html).



2. INSPECT SEAT POSITION AIRBAG SENSOR (for Vehicle Involved in Collision and Airbag has Deployed)

  1. Perform a diagnostic system check (YARIS_NCP93 RM000000XFE0EEX.html).

  1. Visually check for defects with the seat position airbag sensor removed from the vehicle.

    1. The defects are as follows:

      1. Cracks on the sensor housing
      2. Dents on the sensor housing
      3. Chips on the sensor housing
      4. Cracks or other damage to the connector
      OK:
      No defects are found.
      HINT:
      If any of the defects is found, replace the seat position airbag sensor with a new one.
