  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY

  4. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY

  5. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER RELEASE HANDLE

  6. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD

  7. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION INNER SHIELD

  8. REMOVE RECLINING REMOTE CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 3 Door)

  9. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD

  10. REMOVE FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

Front Seat Side Airbag Assembly (For Hatchback Front Passenger Side) -- Removal


CAUTION:
  1. Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing (YARIS_NCP93 RM000000KT10EAX.html).
  2. If the side airbag was deployed, replace the front seat airbag assembly, separate type front seatback spring assembly, separate type front seatback cover and separate type front seatback pad with a new one.
  3. Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the parts may injure your hands.
NOTICE:
Always use "TORX" socket wrench E10 when removing the front seat.


1. PRECAUTION
NOTICE:
After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (YARIS_NCP93 RM00000482M008X.html).


2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.


3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY

4. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the front seat headrest assembly.



5. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER RELEASE HANDLE

  1. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the claw to remove the reclining adjuster release handle.

6. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD

  1. Disengage the 2 claws to remove the front seat cushion inner shield.



7. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION INNER SHIELD

  1. Disengage the 2 claws to remove the front seat cushion inner shield.



8. REMOVE RECLINING REMOTE CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 3 Door)

  1. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the claw to open the cover.

  1. Slide up the cover.

  1. Remove the 2 screws.

  1. Disengage the clamp and cable end and remove the reclining remote control lever sub-assembly.



9. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD

  1. Disconnect the seatback cover band.

  1. Unfasten the hook and loop fastener.

  1. Remove the 3 hog rings.

  1. Remove the 3 hog rings.

  1. Unfasten the 2 zippers. (for Sport Package)

  1. Disengage the 4 claws to remove the 2 front seat headrest supports.

  1. Remove the 2 nuts and remove the seatback bracket.

  1. Remove the front seatback cover with pad.



10. REMOVE FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

  1. Disengage the 3 clamps.

  1. Disengage the 2 clamps to separate the front seat side airbag wire harness.



    Yaris. Ncp93, 131

  1. Remove the 2 nuts and the front seat side airbag assembly.

    CAUTION:
    1. The nuts must not be reused.
    2. Make sure that the seat frame assembly is not deformed. If it is, replace it with a new one.
