REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY
LOOSEN PARKING BRAKE CABLE
REMOVE REAR WHEEL
REMOVE REAR BRAKE DRUM SUB-ASSEMBLY
REMOVE REAR BRAKE SHOE KIT
REMOVE FRONT NO. 4 FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR
REMOVE FUEL TANK COVER VENT CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY
REMOVE NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY
REMOVE NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

1. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY |

2. LOOSEN PARKING BRAKE CABLE |
Loosen the equalizer and lock nut.

- NOTICE:
- Do not reuse the loosened nut.
4. REMOVE REAR BRAKE DRUM SUB-ASSEMBLY |
Release the parking brake and remove the rear brake drum.
If the rear brake drum cannot be removed easily, perform the following procedure.
Remove the hole plug and insert a screwdriver through the hole into the backing plate, and hold the automatic adjust lever away from the adjuster.

Using another screwdriver, contract the brake shoe by turning the adjusting bolt.
5. REMOVE REAR BRAKE SHOE KIT |
Using SST, separate the shoe return spring from the front brake shoe.

- NOTICE:
- Do not damage the wheel cylinder boot.
Using SST, remove the shoe hold down spring cup, shoe hold down spring, pin and front brake shoe.

Remove the tension spring.
Remove the shoe return spring from the rear brake shoe and remove the parking brake shoe strut set.
Using SST, remove the shoe hold down spring cup, shoe hold down spring, pin and rear brake shoe.

Using needle-nose pliers, separate the parking brake cable.
6. REMOVE FRONT NO. 4 FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR |
Remove the 2 nuts and the front No. 4 floor heat insulator.
7. REMOVE FUEL TANK COVER VENT CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY |
Pinch and remove the clip as shown in the illustration.
Remove the bolt and the fuel tank cover vent case sub-assembly.
8. REMOVE NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY |
Separate the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly from the parking brake equalizer.

Remove cable clamp A from the body.
Remove the 5 bolts.
Remove cable clamp B from the rear axle beam.
Remove the bolt and No. 3 parking brake cable assembly from the backing plate.
9. REMOVE NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY |

- Use the same procedure for the RH side as for the LH side.
