  1. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID

  2. REMOVE BATTERY

  3. REMOVE BATTERY TRAY

  4. REMOVE BATTERY CARRIER

  5. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY (w/o VSC)

  6. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY (w/ VSC)

  7. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR BRACKET ASSEMBLY

  8. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR BOLT CUSHION

Brake Actuator (For Hatchback) -- Removal



1. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID
NOTICE:
Immediately wash off any brake fluid that comes into contact with any painted surfaces.


2. REMOVE BATTERY

  1. Disconnect the cable from the battery terminal.

  1. Loosen the 2 nuts and remove the battery clamp.

  1. Remove the battery.



3. REMOVE BATTERY TRAY


4. REMOVE BATTERY CARRIER

  1. Disengage the 6 clamps and disconnect the wire harness from the battery carrier.

  1. Remove the 5 bolts and the battery carrier.



5. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY (w/o VSC)

  1. Release the lock lever and disconnect the brake actuator connector.

    Be careful not to allow brake fluid to enter the removed connector.

  1. Using a union nut wrench 10 mm, separate the 6 brake tubes from the brake actuator.

  1. Remove the 3 bolts and brake actuator with bracket from the side member.

    NOTICE:
    Do not damage the brake tubes or wire harness.


6. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY (w/ VSC)

  1. Release the lock lever and disconnect the brake actuator connector.

  1. Using a union nut wrench 10 mm and union nut wrench 12 mm, separate the 6 brake tubes from the brake actuator.

  1. Remove the 3 bolts and brake actuator with bracket from the side member.

    NOTICE:
    Do not damage the brake tubes or wire harness.


7. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR BRACKET ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the 3 bolts and brake actuator bracket assembly.



8. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR BOLT CUSHION

  1. Remove the 3 brake actuator case collars from the brake actuator bolt cushion.

  1. Remove the 3 brake actuator bolt cushions from the brake actuator bracket assembly.
