Front Seat Cushion Assembly (W/ Occupant Classification Ecu, Occupant Classification Sensor) Installation

Install the occupant classification ECU with the 2 claws.

Torque:

3.0 N*m{31 kgf*cm, 27 in.*lbf}

NOTICE:

1. If the occupant classification ECU has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case or connector, replace the occupant classification ECU with a new one.
   
2. When installing the occupant classification ECU, be careful that the SRS wiring does not interfere with other parts and that it is not pinched between other parts.
   
3. Do not allow oil or grease to adhere to the occupant classification ECU during installation.
   

Connect the connector.

Install the occupant classification sensor with the 2 new clips.

NOTICE:

1. Do not reuse the clip.
   
2. Securely install the clip.
   
3. Do not reuse an occupant classification sensor which has been dropped.
   
4. Make sure that there is no foreign matter between the occupant classification sensor and seat assembly.
   

Install the connector with the claw.

Install the clamp and connect the connector.

CAUTION:

1. Make sure the gel mat pressure hose is closer to the floor than the main harness.
   
2. When setting the pressure hose, make sure the hose is not twisted. 1 full twist or more will damage the pressure hose.
   
3. Make sure the radius of the circular path of the pressure hose is 20 mm (0.787 in.) or more.
   
4. After connecting the connectors, make sure that the connectors are not strained or pulled apart.
   
5. Make sure that the pressure hose is not pinched between other components.
   
6. Do not kink the pressure hose.
   

Temporarily install the front seat cushion cover with pad to the front seat frame assembly with adjuster.

Engage the hooks.

Install the front seat cushion cover with pad with the 2 clips.

Using hog ring pliers, install 2 new hog rings.

Engage the hook.

Insert the guide and temporarily install the front seat cushion inner shield as shown in the illustration.

Engage the claw.

Install the front seat cushion inner shield with the screw.

Install the front seat inner belt assembly with the nut.

Torque:

41 N*m{420 kgf*cm, 30 ft.*lbf}

NOTICE:

Do not overlap the anchor part of the seat belt and protruding part of the seat adjuster.

Connect each connector and clamp.

Engage the 2 guides.

Engage the claw.

Install the front seat cushion shield with the 3 screws.

Engage the claw and install the reclining adjuster release handle.

Place the front seat assembly in the cabin.

NOTICE:

Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

Connect the connectors under the seat.

Temporarily install the front seat assembly with the 4 bolts.

Lift up the seat track adjusting handle and move the seat to the rearmost position.

Tighten the 2 bolts on the front side of the seat.

Torque:

37 N*m{377 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf}

HINT:

Tighten the bolts in the order indicated in the illustration.

Lift up the seat track adjusting handle and move the seat to the foremost position.

Tighten the 2 bolts on the rear side of the seat.

Torque:

37 N*m{377 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf}

HINT:

Tighten the bolts in the order indicated in the illustration.

While sliding the front seat, check that the left and right adjusters move together smoothly and lock simultaneously.
If the seat adjusters do not lock simultaneously, loosen the bolts securing the seat to adjust the adjuster position.

Lift up the seat track adjusting handle and move the seat to the rearmost position.

Engage the 2 claws and install the inner seat track cover.

Engage the 2 claws and install the outer seat track cover.

If the occupant classification ECU has been replaced, perform registration (COROLLA_ZRE142 RM000001QX402OX.html).

If the occupant classification ECU has been replaced, perform zero point calibration and sensitivity check (COROLLA_ZRE142 RM0000010VN07SX.html).

Inspect SRS warning light (COROLLA_ZRE142 RM000000XFD0GSX.html).
