Side Airbag Sensor (For Rear Side) Installation

Check that the ignition switch is off.

Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

CAUTION:

Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

Install the side airbag sensor with the bolt and pin.

Torque:

9.0 N*m{92 kgf*cm, 80 in.*lbf}

NOTICE:

1. If the side airbag sensor has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case or connector, replace it with a new one.
   
2. When installing the side airbag sensor, be careful that the SRS wiring does not interfere with other parts and that it is not pinched between other parts.
   
3. Make sure that the pin is securely inserted into the body hole.
   
4. Tighten the bolt while holding the side airbag sensor because the side airbag sensor pin (stopper) is easily damaged.
   

Connect the connector.

NOTICE:

When connecting the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

Check that there is no looseness in the installation parts of the side airbag sensor.

Engage the 2 claws and 2 clips, and install the lower center pillar garnish LH.

for TMC Made:

1. Align the alignment mark (pink) on the weatherstrip and the protruding portion on the body indicated by the arrow in the illustration, and install the rear door opening trim weatherstrip LH.
   

   NOTICE:

   After installation, check that the corners fit correctly.

for TMMC Made:

1. Align the alignment mark (red) on the weatherstrip and the protruding portion on the body indicated by the arrow in the illustration, and install the rear door opening trim weatherstrip LH.
   

   NOTICE:

   After installation, check that the corners fit correctly.

Engage the 6 claws and install the rear door scuff plate LH.

Align the alignment mark (yellow) on the weatherstrip and the protruding portion on the body indicated by the arrow in the illustration, and install the front door opening trim weatherstrip LH.

NOTICE:

After installation, check that the corners fit correctly.

Engage the 8 claws and install the front door scuff plate LH.

Inspect the SRS warning light (COROLLA_ZRE142 RM000000XFD0GSX.html).
