Center Airbag Sensor Assembly -- Removal |
| 1. PRECAUTION |
- CAUTION:
- Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing (COROLLA_ZRE142 RM000000KT10H0X.html).
| 2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL |
- CAUTION:
- Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
| 3. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL LH |
Disengage the 3 claws and clip, and then remove the lower instrument panel finish panel LH.
 |
| 4. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL RH |
Disengage the 3 claws and clip, and then remove the lower instrument panel finish panel RH.
 |
| 5. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle) |
Turn the shift lever knob counterclockwise and remove the shift lever knob sub-assembly.
 |
| 6. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transaxle) |
Turn the shift lever knob counterclockwise and remove the shift lever knob sub-assembly.
 |
| 7. REMOVE CENTER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle) |
Disengage the 2 claws and 2 clips.
 |
Disengage the guide and remove the center No.1 instrument cluster finish panel assembly.
| 8. REMOVE CENTER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transaxle) |
Disengage the 2 claws and 2 clips.
 |
Disengage the guide and remove the center No.1 instrument cluster finish panel assembly.
| 9. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX ASSEMBLY |
Remove the 2 screws <B>.
 |
Disengage the 2 claws.
Disconnect the connector and remove the instrument panel box assembly.
| 10. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX INSERT |
Disengage the 3 claws.
 |
Disengage the guide and remove the front No. 1 console box insert.
| 11. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX INSERT |
Disengage the 3 claws.
 |
Disengage the guide and remove the front No. 2 console box insert.
| 12. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY |
Using a moulding remover, disengage the 6 clips and 2 guides, and remove the upper console panel sub-assembly.
 |
| 13. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX CARPET |
Remove the console box carpet.
 |
| 14. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle) |
Remove the 2 bolts.
 |
Remove the 2 screws and the console box assembly.
 |
| 15. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transaxle) |
Remove the 2 bolts and 2 screws.
 |
Remove the 2 screws and the console box assembly.
 |
| 16. REMOVE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY |
Check that the ignition switch is off.
Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.
- CAUTION:
- Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
Turn back the carpet.
Disconnect the holder (with connectors).
- NOTICE:
- When connecting the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

Remove the 3 bolts and center airbag sensor assembly.
