POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

  1. The power door lock system locks/unlocks all the doors.
    The master switch and the door control switch on the passenger door send "lock/unlock" request signals to the main body ECU (instrument panel junction block). Then, the main body ECU (instrument panel junction block) sends these request signals to the lock motors in each door to lock/unlock all the doors at once in response to the inputs.
    Operating the driver's door lock using a mechanical key sends request signals to lock/unlock the doors to the main body ECU (instrument panel junction block).

Power window master switch
Door control switch on master switch locks/unlocks all doors.
Door courtesy switch
Placed on each door. Detects door status (open or closed) and outputs data to main body ECU (instrument panel junction block). Turns on when door is open and turns off when door is closed.
Driver side door lock
  1. Built-in motor locks/unlocks door.
  2. Built-in door control switch (key-linked) detects door key operation door status (locked or unlocked) and outputs data to main body ECU (instrument panel junction block).
  3. Built-in position switch detects door status (locked or unlocked) and outputs data to main body ECU (instrument panel junction block). This switch turns off when door is locked and turns on when door is unlocked.
Passenger side door lock
  1. Built-in motor locks/unlocks door.
  2. Built-in door control switch*1 (key-linked) detects door key operation's door status (locked or unlocked) and outputs data to main body ECU (instrument panel junction block).
  3. Built-in position switch detects door status (locked or unlocked) and outputs data to main body ECU (instrument panel junction block). This switch turns off when door is locked and turns on when door is unlocked.
Rear LH and RH door locks
  1. Built-in motor locks/unlocks door.
  2. Built-in position switch*2 detects door status (locked or unlocked) and outputs data to main body ECU (instrument panel junction block). This switch turns off when door is locked and turns on when door is unlocked.
Luggage compartment door lock
Built-in luggage door open motor.

SYSTEM FUNCTION

  1. This system is controlled by the main body ECU (instrument panel junction block). The main body ECU (instrument panel junction block) outputs signals to each door lock motor. The vehicle door lock control system has the following functions:

    Function
    		Outline
    Manual lock and unlock function
    		This function can lock or unlock all doors by the door lock control switch operation.
    Key-linked lock and unlock function
    		This function, which is linked with the mechanical key cylinder, can lock or unlock all the doors.
    Manual unlock prohibition function
    		Performing the door lock operation with an electrical key*1 or a mechanical key*2 or key linked operation will prohibit the unlock operation by the door lock control switch.
    Key lock-in prevention function
    		If each door lock*1 or driver's door lock*2 and passenger's door lock*3 operation is performed when the electrical key*1 or mechanical key*2 is in the cabin*1 or ignition key cylinder*2, all the doors will be unlocked.
    Shift-linked automatic door lock function (A/T)
    		When the conditions listed below are met consecutively, this function causes all the doors to be automatically locked.
    1. All doors are closed.
    2. The engine is started.
    3. The shift lever is moved out of P.
    Shift-linked automatic door unlock function (A/T)
    		If the shift lever is moved out of P after the engine is started, all the doors will be automatically unlocked.
    2-step unlock function
    		This function is provided to unlock the driver's door by turning the key cylinder once and to unlock the remaining doors by turning it twice.
    Speed-sensitive automatic door lock function*3
    		When the conditions listed below are met consecutively, this function causes all the doors to be automatically locked.
    1. Vehicle speed is higher than approximately 20 km/h (12 mph).
    2. All doors are closed.
    3. Any one of the door's is unlocked.
    Opening driver's door-linked automatic door unlock*4
    		All doors are unlocked automatically when the driver's door is opened within 10 seconds after the power source is changed from "IG-ON" to "ACC" or "OFF".
